First time to come here for family gathering dinner. Definitely hidden gem. The restaurant is at a senior service building. It is not big at all. You may really want to make reservations to come here. There’s not much parking too as many spots are marked for another senior building visitors. As far as food, I would say it is average for general dishes. We preorder some special dishes and those are excellent like the stuffed chicken with sticky rice. Juicy inside and crispy outside. The only thing I don’t like is their speedy serving speed. The table is already full of dishes and they won’t slow down until you request it. So if you want to eat slowly and enjoy the food, make sure to monitor the serving speed and ask them to hold on. Btw, don’t forget to order the satay beef on rice noodle. It is a must!

We ordered 川椒 chicken rice noodle, but it came out as Chinese broccoli (gai lan) chicken rice noodle. They should tell us if there's no 川椒, not just giving us whatever they wanted. The chicken was good, but Chinese broccoli and rice noodle were flavourless. The other two dishes we ordered were also so so, think we won't come back again

Wonderful food and dining experience. The smoked duck's aroma is delightfully rich. The sweetness and the saltiness of its sauce are well balanced. The pan fried fish is nice in the way that you can finish the whole fish without worrying about its bones. The steam rice with chicken meat and preserved fish is also impressive. Highly likely that Wui Heung preserved fish is used, which is a game changer in giving the best taste to the dish. For the Chiu Chow style rice with soup, I am fine with its taste. My relatives like the one offered by New Fusion Chinese Restaurant, Aurora, whose dishes also worth a try. The attendants are friendly and diligent. The place is clean. A star is deducted from the item of atmosphere due to its noisy environment.

Not a lot of chiu chow food options in Toronto anymore. Was excited for this place because I've heard good things about it. Had takeout once and it was not great so decided to dine in today to give it another try. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The food was acceptable but I probably won't be going again. The brine for the marinated duck was weak and the meat was tough and not tender. Presentation also not the greatest or appetizing. The pork stomach soup had an overpowering ginger taste but otherwise okay but there are definitely better options elsewhere. The oyster pancake was the best out of all the dishes.

Hidden gem in scar, quite literally. Follow the signs towards the back of the parking lot. We had excellent food for a party of 11. Food was delicious and flavourful, unlike some of the other reviews. And service was friendly and timely. We would come back to try some of their other items that require preordering

鹹菜胡椒豬肚湯 is perfect on a cold day. Warms the body despite how cold it is outside. $128 set meal is very good. Fast service, and attentive waiters replacing our plates frequently. 海帶綠豆沙 desert is excellent. Not too sweat, full of ingredients. First time 海帶 included in this desert which complemented the overall flavour. Will definitely come back again!

Love this place. Took my family here for the first time. Have been here twice during Chinese new year where they had a set meal and on a non holiday to try their regular dishes. Food is truly exceptional for the value, inexpensive, flavorful, and great portions. True essence of Chinese chui Chow style. The staff were very friendly, extremely hard working and attentive to your dining experience. For dessert, the taro mash is always a favorite. Rich, creamy and thick Taro. For savory when platter is a unique choice but I prefer the satay beef noodle.

This Chiu Chow restaurant is located in the Vintage Garden seniors' residential complex and is technically labeled as the "Vintage Garden Dining Room" on the ground floor of an apartment building (it's almost like a large party room inside a condo). As other reviewers have pointed out, the entrance is not the most obvious, though there is some simple signage. Despite the unconventional location, the restaurant is clean and bright, and it was very busy on a Saturday night, with a steady stream of customers coming in and out. We opted not to get a set course menu and instead ordered various items we wanted to try. Everything was yummy and cooked well, and they served complimentary dessert. The menu was priced affordably. Definitely a hidden gem! Would come back again for dining in or takeout. I'd recommend booking a reservation, especially if you have a big party.
