I was immediately struck by the authentic Thai atmosphere upon entering. The ambiance was delightful, but the initial wait for seating was a little longer than expected, likely due to understaffing. Given the high 4.7 stars Google review mark, my expectations were high. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Green Chicken Curry, and Shrimp Curry. I was somewhat underwhelmed. I noticed that the meats seemed to be cooked separately from their sauces. On the bright side, the lunch special curries were generously filled with vegetables, which was a plus. However, I couldn't help but feel that the flavors were somewhat tailored to suit North American palates. Interestingly, I overheard a nearby table discussing their long-standing patronage, spanning an impressive 30 years. It was clear that this restaurant holds a deep sentimental value for them.

A very interesting decor assaults you as you enter this eclectic space. The people are very friendly and service is attentive. We were a group of 10 and most of us had the lunch specials which were numerous and included a small cup of hot and sour soup and a small spring roll. The main selections were numerous and either included noodles or came with rice. Pad Thai was the most popular with many. It was a very generous portion of mostly noodles but was tasty. Other dishes included spicy beef, green chicken curry and chicken and shrimp basil. All were good but none were spicy although they indicated that they were. More a North Americanized version of a Thai dish. All in all a fun place with decent food.

We like coming to this place for the decor! Amazing Thai pieces. Always good service. Food is good and fair priced, but not out of this world. Made for the north American people. ☺️

Delicious Food, great decor. Highly recommended. Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice are awesome! A little pity is the curry dish doesn’t serve with rice. Never happened in other Thai restaurants ever ate at. 🙁

Beautiful ambiance at this Thai eatery. Friendly and welcoming service. Usually go to downtown to satisfy Thai food cravings but decided to give this place a shot. Went for a late lunch on a Saturday and found the place was mostly empty. Ordered green curry beef with rice off their lunch special menu. Came with fresh fried spring roll and soup. Buddy ordered red Thai curry beef with rice. Both tasted great. I think the spiciness is toned down given the location. Ask for extra spicy if you like spicy food. Glad to have an authentic Thai restaurant in Newmarket. Will revisit to try their other offerings.

Orchid Thai never disappoints! The food is delicious and made with love. We had the Bangkok Dinner for Two special. They were very accommodating when we asked if we could substitute the Golden Thai curry for the Emerald Green curry. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and have a craving for Thai food!

Update: Great place! Enjoyed the emerald curry, spicy beef, and seafood salad. Nice flavors and I thought the seafood salad stood out! Nice balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. Awesome atmosphere with really cool pieces of art. Great service that was speedy and friendly. I love the atmosphere and the vibe of the location. It was really cool to see all the things and the location seemed very authentic. The food was reasonable priced and the portions were large. I really enjoyed the appetizers of the hot and sour soup and spring roll. I think this place is awesome, my only thing is that Thai food is not my favorite so I can’t comment much on the food but I know plenty that adore the food and this place is a gem for sure.
