Okonomiyaki is my favourite here! The yakisoba is fantastic as well. Affordable casual dining. Has a comfortable feel in there, makes you forget you’re in noisy yorkville

I love okonomiyaki so had this in my list for so long and to be able to go was so fulfilling They have a few types of okonomiyaki and their menu isn’t overloaded with items, which is nice. So because of my long awaited visit, I went all out and got the seafood one. So good. Can get a bite of different seafood in each bite. Also like the fact that bonito flakes and seaweed are available I do wish they had their dessert pudding when I went but they were sold out. So will have to go again! Service was great. Felt the japanese hospitality upon arrival and waitress was super nice. Very quick and efficient. Place is not big, so not sure how busy it can get, but I went about 1:30 on a Wednesday and it seemed ok. Great job overall

Delicious, authentic japanese food! We got the pork okonomi, beef yakisoba, edamame and custard pudding. The food was freshly made, portion sizes are huge and flavour very good. It’s the kind of food that won’t leave your mouth feeling dry/thirsty so you know they don’t overdo the msg. The custard would be the only thing that we probably won’t order again. Service for an asian restaurant is great, everyone is very polite but don’t expect them to check up on you. It’s the type of place when it gets busy, you’ll need to wave down a waitress if you need anything. The only thing was after edamame before the rest of our food, we were asked to switch tables to help accommodate a larger party of 5. We were at a table for two and they wanted to push two tables together. We didn’t mind but that’s something to keep in mind. Considering the prices, you’re able to eat good food and be full (considerably stuffed for me personally) for <$25 per person in Toronto which is uncommon these days. If you’re looking for a cozy japanese spot, would highly recommend.

I ordered yakiniku and okonomiyaki. I felt that the sliced beef in the yakiniku was too thin and didn’t have a special taste for me. The okonomiyaki was good and had a generous portion, but it would have been even better with some dried bonito on top. The overall prices are quite reasonable, and the employees are attentive to the customers.

Had a chance to visit this gem today. The inside is a bit dated but kept very clean and tidy. I ordered the Seafood deluxe Okonomi and Yakisoba. The seafood deluxe Okonomi was PACKED with seafood and was delicious 👌🏼. Yakisoba was fried and seasoned just right and not too oily! We sat next to a table that ordered chicken teriyaki and the portion was HUGE. ❤️ (next time!) 10/10 would recommend 🙏🏼❤️👌🏼

Dec 18, 2024: 3rd visit (4/5 stars) We were hoping to try their limited Original Beef Curry dish which they only make in small batches each Wednesday but luck was not on our side as they were not making this dish this week :( Instead, we had the Yakisoba, Burger Steak Teriyaki, and Beef Teriyaki Yakisoba was okay. It was savoury but felt it was missing something. Burger Steak Teriyaki was good. Burger Steak size was generous and delicious. Beef Teriyaki was awesome. The beef was tender and savoury. Pretty much, our favourite dish at Okonomi House Restaurant. — Nov 16, 2024: 2nd visit (5/5 stars) We were craving some good Beef Teriyaki and Okonomiyaki and Okonomi House Restaurant satisfied our cravings. The Beef Teriyaki was awesome. Would definitely recommend. The Pork Okonomiyaki with Bonito Flakes and Dried Seaweed was savoury and delicious. Of the three Okonomiyaki (beef, pork or seafood) that we tried, the Beef Okonomiyaki by far was the best :) — Sept 2024: 1st visit (5/5 stars) Beef teriyaki was amazing! The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked with a good helping of stir fried bean sprouts. Would definitely recommend. The Seafood Okonomiyaki with Bonito Flakes and Dried Seaweed was good but felt it was missing something. The seafood was delicious and okonomiyaki was good but felt it lacked in chopped cabbage to give it the crunchiness factor. Last time we had the beef okonomiyaki and it was perfect. So was a little disappointed with seafood okonomiyaki.

My experience at Okonomi House Restaurant was excellent. Service was on point and the food was even more amazing. We ordered the Seafood Deluxe Okonomiyaki and we opted to add on the Aonori & Katsuobushi. I highly recommend this dish! The Seafood Deluxe comes with tiger shrimp, scallop, crab stick and squid. If you don't like seafood, there are other options to choose from and you can customize further by mixing ingredients that you enjoy. We also shared a Yakisoba. It was good but can't beat the Okonomiyaki here. The restaurant has a very old school vibe but serves very comforting and authentic Japanese style food. Expect to be covered from head to toe with that smokey signature Okonomiyaki smell but it's totally worth it.

Food was decent. If you consider the price, it is actually pretty good ($40 incl tip & tax for 2 ppl is hard to find these days). Service was not there. Servers take your order, they bring your food and they accept your payment - this is pretty much it. They never ask how the food is, they never refill your water, they just don't care. They are not rude though. Does the food taste authentic? Yes. Is it better or on par with the one you can get in Japan? No. Would I come back? No.
