The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. My only disappointment is that its quite a bit more casual dinning than the website reflects. The big screen TV's in the bar area make it feel like a sports bar. And its quite small in terms of space. I think it could easily be a more upscale experience.

small oysters taste much better than the big one! Tiger 🍤 is delicious; beef tarts is way too salty, not recommend.

A friend and me were walking around Don Mills shop mall. I was start getting hungry and I was craving sushie. Was 4:30 and the place open until 5 so we wait for them to open. The people start arriving, that was a good sign. People lining up for get a table. They open and we get a table for 2. The waitress arrive with menus and offer drinks. After we order the food, she asked if we have any allergies ( was very nice they asked) I have shrimp allergy. She went to asked in the kitchen if my food I order has any shrimp on it. ( I asked for risotto and seared salmon) she said everything was ok. But unfortunately after our dishes arrived then we barely see our waitress, my friend wants a dessert but after waiting we just asked to the hostess for our bill. The food was good. My sushie was delicious. But I am thinking they were lack of employees for the amount of people they have. Making the service slow.

I have been coming here for their oysters and they are really good. I have also ordered their Tiger Shrimps with Ebi Mayo which is delicious! This time I ordered as well the chicken wings which are over fried, we felt like it has been fried and re fried again, So they were very very dry. We have given that feedback to the server. Hopefully the chef would take note of it.

Always a pleasure dining at Nome Izakaya both the Downtown and Don Mills location. Menu is on point with great tapas to choose from that can be shared and fantastic ambiance and service staff. Recently celebrated a birthday at the Don Mills location and they were very accomodating. Looking forward to the next time.

Overall a wonderful experience. We ordered a bit of everything. Our top faves were: kalbi, pork belly, monk fish tacos and poke. Servers were friendly but too busy. They were not attentive enough in taking away empty dishes so our table got really crowded with empty plates. Servers that bring our food do not take away the empty plates - which was weird. Music a too loud so makes it hard to have a decent conversation.

Visited this restaurant on a early evening with my wife and my 4 year old daughter. We heard about this restaurant from a friend and decided to try it out. We didn’t make reservations but was promptly seated but advised that we needed to give out table up by 7pm. We arrived at about 5:10pm and and 7pm request was fine. Upon entering we were graced with a modern atmosphere and friendly and helpful hostesses and waitresses throughout our time dining. We heard about the Japa Burgers and ordered that, this was a wonderful flight of 3 sliders that were crafted beautifully and tasted good. I particularly enjoyed the garlic mayo that they used on these sliders. These sliders are larger then most other slider that one may be used to so just be aware of that. The next item we ordered was the Bulgogi Tacos, these were also portioned well and we enjoyed these as it has the same garlic mayo as the Japa Burgers. Our next item was the Nome Fried Chicken, it was nicely prepared, served hot and had a nice spice to it that provided a nice kick. A range of sauces is available with each order. We chose the sweet chilli sauce. We ordered the 21 piece sashimi (Moriawase) and enjoyed the fresh pieces of fish and excellent presentation of the items. We did try to order the 30 piece but they didn’t have that available, most likely due to not having any other varieties of fish available. That’s fine for our meal this evening. The next item was the Lobster Fantasy roll, we enjoyed this, but found it to be kind of normal tasting. They described this as a deep fried lobster tail roll. To be honest it could have been shrimp or deep fried crab and it would have been hard to taste the difference with all the other items on the roll. We also ordered the Crispy Pork Belly. This item was exactly as described, crispy pork belly! It was served with seaweed paste, fresh ginger and green onions. Our last item was the Yam Fries. This was delicious, generous portion and a hit with our 4 year old daughter. All in all, we enjoyed the dining experience and will return. They have a wide selection of items on their menu and I can’t wait to try more. My daughter actually wanted to try the Mac and Cheese item but they didn’t have it available for our dining that evening. Plenty of parking available at the Shops at Don Mills both covered and outdoor parking options. Thank you Nome Izakaya for the wonderful evening!
