Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Fried Beef Liver - Egyptian-style beef liver, fried for a relatively smooth texture with some grainy chunks characteristic of the liver. Has a delicious, fragrant initial flavour seasoned with a simple spice mix and topped with parsley, but is followed with a subtle irony aftertaste. After a couple of bites, I got used to the aftertaste, or rather it became less prominent over time, and I started to like liver. Comes with a pita that has an almost overwhelmingly fragrant freshly baked bread smell, soft and slightly chewy with a distinct yeasty umami taste that goes well with the liver. Served with Tahini sauce that's smooth, slightly creamy and fragrant with sesame. Topped with parsley for an herby freshness. Mixed Grill Platter - Three mixed skewers of chicken, minced beef/lamb, and chunks of lamb. All cooked pretty nicely, chicken was white meat and had a savory char on the outside, but the texture was a tad dry. Kofta had a strong meaty taste, has a somewhat moist, crumbly texture. The lamb was not cooked to the requested temp, yet still very juicy and tender, bursting with juices with a distinct lamby taste with each bite. Topped with caramelized fried onions. Underneath is a bed of medium-grain rice, which has a more distinctive indiv. grain texture, less starchy and sticky texture, and a chewier mouthfeel that's mixed along with toasted vermicelli pasta for a slightly fragrant bite. Served with tahini on the side and half the plate is filled with a simple garden salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and red onions dressed with a simple vinaigrette. Koshari - Soft macaroni and spaghetti that's past al dente but still has a slight chew, medium grain rice also a little soft but still indiv. grain texture. Lentils and chickpeas were tender but a little bland. The tomato sauce was sweet with a balancing acidity that gave an appetizing lightness to each bite. The fried onions were caramelized with a pleasant sweetness and addicting aroma. Molokhia - Jute leaves and garlic simmered in chicken broth with spices. The broth is quite thin, with a very strong garlic aroma that's not pungent and very aromatic. Jute leaves add a new unique aroma. Served with the same medium grain rice (half of a plate) topped with fried onions and parsley, good for soaking in the broth. Quarter plate for a house salad.

The molokhia here is super tasty (comfort food)! Had it with a skewer of lamb, vermicelli rice and salad. The service and ambience are nice too.

I ordered from Nile River restaurant for our event yesterday. It was a very important gathering for me and thanks to Nile River Restaurant I was flooded with compliments for the delicious food! The owner Ahmad, and the Catering Manager Viky delivered the food in great shape, and while still hot just in time! It was amazing meeting them in person too, as they were such amazing and friendly people! - Now friends who will save me the worry about the food in all future gatherings! Thank you, Nile River! Thank you Viky and Ahmad!

Super yummy falafel dinner! The falafel is spot on, tastes delicious and has the authentic brown texture and color to it with great spices.

Ordered Molokhoia meal which came with rice, salmon, chicken and salad. Everything tasted good. Also ordered koshari, it was missing fried onions and garlic dukka, also felt the taste was average. For desserts we ordered babousa and kunafa with creamy ashta, both were ok and not too sweet.

Took the Ramadan Iftar offer - 40$ per person. Overall, the atmosphere was cozy and all the staff were super nice. Many of the buffet items were excellent/great and a few missed the mark. Thus, I am leaving a 4* for food. We ordered 2 guava juice. Then add tips and tax. Altogether, it was around 110$. There may be cheaper Ramadan offers out there but I would still recommend you trying out their food. The items which were super delicious make it worth the visit! Details of the day: 1. Orzo soup - not my favourite, maybe it's just my taste - 6/10 2. Lentil soup - Excellent - 10/10. Would go for it again. My wife had two bowls. 3-5. Cauliflower/Samosa/Eggplant - all were excellent. The right amount of crunch on the veg and samoso, and flavours were excellent - 9/10 6. Humus - normal - 7/10 7. Moussaka - worst dish of the day for me. Cheese wasn't melted and felt I bit into uncooked flour or something. Not tasty or had no particular flavour - 3/10 8. Rice - just okay, expected a bit more fragrance/flavour - 7/10 9. Tawook (Chicken) - this was my favourite of the day, juicy and tender. I had too many pieces - 10/10 10. Beef - a close second, the first batch was excellent but the second batch seemed a little bit chewy. Steak like pieces cut into small portions - 8.5/10 11. Kofta - It was okay for me in terms of taste but I have had better - 8/10 12. Shrimp - I liked it but a tad bit salty for my wife - 7/10 13. Kunafa - excellent. If I wasn't full, I would have had another - 9/10 14. Om Ali (I think this was the dish) - I loved it but my wife didn't - 8/10

I went there with a critic mind; yet open to exploration, and the verdict is --- 🥁 it's amazing. The atmosphere, the music, the service, and most importantly the food. I had the iftaar buffet to break fast and every item had an unique taste and a care for cultural celebration.

Where do I begin? Perhaps that this place is worth the 2 hour drive. As someone who has to eat GF (gluten free) imagine my joy in finding a place that offers gluten free pita bread and they’re HUGE. They have all the other offerings too of course, not a small menu! I appreciate finding little spots that you know has regulars, and more than a few - that’s how you know it’s good. I recommend the Kofta - delicious place. Will be back again soon.
