New Toronto Fish & Chips

They have the best fish around(get the halibut, it's worth it), and my family have been eating here for generations. The place has a lovely atmosphere and the server is very welcoming and helpful. Also the shrimp and onion rings are excellent :)

Wow! So delicious.. definitely a must try. We had the haddock and it was very fresh, not a lot of batter and tasted perfect. Great portions, the coleslaw was delicious. The gravy is that old school gravy you need to have. Highly recommend! My photo doesn’t do justice as i forgot to take a photo before my child asked for ketchup etc We will definitely return.

It's a old spot with a old style dining but let be real that doesn't matter. The chips are nice tasty and and the halibut is juicy flaky, the best I've had in many years. I believe Joey was our server and she was nothing short of fantastic.

I tried the cod which was quite good. Crispy and flaky, but I thought the portion was quite small compared to my favourite fish and chipperies. The coleslaw costs extra though I appreciate the contrasting flavour it provides the meal. Extremely kind couple that run the shop, 5 stars for service.

I've been here 4 times and it doesn't disappoint! Very tasty halibut and chips. I also had gravy which was good. I will be coming here more often. Very good price for halibut and chips $15.45. Little mom and pop place, I love it!

This was our first time visiting New Toronto Fish & Chips, and it was what you expected for a landmark restaurant that has been around for over 40 years. We got there 10 minutes before closing and opted to do their takeout special. Everyone was super pleasant to us, including some regulars that were eating there that talked us up while waiting when they heard we had never been there before. We took the food down to the beach to eat and very much enjoyed the food with the view. We ordered the haddock takeout special and got gravy and coleslaw. The fish was fantastic, really enjoyed it, it's been a while since I had a fish this good, one spot the batter was a bit undercooked, but not to the point it wasn't edible, just for my taste. The chips were not good, to be fair, we showed up 10 minutes before closing, so I assume we got what was left, or that's how they tasted, very dry and old tasting, I wanted to enjoy them after the fish was so good, but neither of us finished eating the fries sadly. The coleslaw was a bit to vinegary for my taste, but I actually mixed some tartar sauce in it and it actually made it tastier for me. The gravy was AMAZING and second to the fish, it was the only way I was able to eat as many chips as I did. Overall I would go back next time I'm in the area to give them a second chance, but would go earlier, as I feel the chips were unfairly judged based on when we ended up there.

I was here on Good Friday to get the family fish and chips. The lineup was crazy. It took 1 hour to get our food. I ordered 5 Halibut and chips, with 2 Cole slaws on the side. Dont forget the gravy for your fries. When I got home and plated it up, it was still crunchy. Have a look at my pictures and push the Like button. Best Fish and Chips on the Lakeshore. This is a family run restaurant and has been there for over 40 years that I now of. Everything is fresh and the chips are nice and crunchy. They also have one of the best gravy around. Small out dated looking place, but great food!
