New Northern Dumplings

I tried out this amazing Chinese-Korean fusion restaurant run by a Chinese-Korean owner. The dumplings are freshly handmade, and you can taste the difference. The juicy filling bursts out the moment you bite into them! The “guo bao rou” (sweet and sour pork) is absolutely fantastic, the Northeast-style cold noodles are generously portioned, and the chive pies are simply top-notch. Highly recommend this spot!

Amazing, absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier or fuller eating here. So glad we came here off of a whim. Really can't see how you would be disappointed. Value for food is par none!!! Decent atmosphere, but the food shines. Northern Chinese food at its finest.

One of our dumpling spots in the city. Love both their pan-fried and steamed ones. Their soups are pretty good, too. The portion size is great, I only wish there were more options without pork.

service is so bad it takes away from the food. There are sooo many food options in this plaza and area - enjoy yourself there instead of this establishment. focusing on the dumplings; we ordered steamed pork and chive dumplings, and pan fried lamb dumplings. The pan fried dumplings arrived and we noticed they aren’t lamb but the pork and leek. i got the attention of a server (spiked short pixie cut lady) to ask - but she wouldn’t even let me finish asking and just yelled in mandarin. The steamed dumplings arrived - also pork and leek. When i asked for the bill, i wanted to make sure i was billed for 2 pork and leeks and she refuted, luckily i left a dumpling behind to prove my point. she kept yelling and at me like it was an error i made when my order sheet clearly stated my order. she corrected the bill and gave me change assuming a 15+% tip. the ignorance in her demeanour was ugly; like she was superior for yelling in a language i cannot stand up for myself in was powerful - in reality it is your inability to connect with your customers is embarrassing.

Food 5/5 Service 3/5 Vibe 3/5 If you love fresh made dumplings ( pan fried, steamed or boiled) this maybe you next favourite spot. Food was delicious, love their steamed dumplings (they can never go wrong). Pan fried dumplings were great, just a bit on the oily side as they need to make the bottom crispy. Service is regular chinese style, fast, straight to the point, and effortless! Oh! And their Pitcher beer are quite cheap, so its a good spot to grab a drink or 2 with friends while enjoying some dumpings😂

I got the steamed pork and celery dumplings! They’re made to order because they took some time! I wish they had a dumpling sauce but I made my own (soya sauce, rice vinegar and chilli oil). They were decent flavour and I wish they were a bit more juicy (I like very juicy dumplings). For the price, I would recommend going here! It was super cheap. I think it was 8.99 for 15 steamed which was a steal. The staff was polite as well

Long story before the meal details... So it's Thursday night 10 p.m. and we didn't have dinner yet. So we went searching for a restaurant that closes right at 10 p.m. just our luck, the first restaurants parking lot is full (Perfect Restaurant). Next one (Liwan Kitchen), closed but open light is still on. Went to SkyCity (big mistake), jammed packed. Next, just north of it, Majic Noodle, too cold to sit outside and line up for inside table. Our last chance before I totally give up and go home to eat cereal for dinner. Drove up to to Silver Star north of Passmore. Korean looked promising until we walked in the door and literally the open sign closed on us... LOL. LAST chance.. next door, The hours open said til 9:30 but it was past 10:10. We asked the nice lady said we still open.. Hallelujah!!! We sat and ordered right away... We ordered cucumber with jellyfish in vinegar sesame dressing, pork potstickers and glass noodles soup that had no food Napa in a pork broth. I'm not sure if we were just really hungry or it just tasted really good and we ate everything!!! Totally Happy, totally Full and very momorable night to remember... Definitely will be back at an earlier time to have dinner again!

Always quick service and great food. A very shanghai based type of restaurant where you check what you want on the menu (also a menu with pictures). The food is always piping hot and fresh. Very flavourful and not salty. Can be oily at times dependent on what you choose. They have cold and hot dishes and dessert options available. A good standard place to go to.
