Unsurprisingly, I was craving more porkchop rice, and this place makes the classic HK version of porkchop, tomato sauce, and rice for a familiar, no-frills taste on a budget. The beef chow fun is deceptively simple yet packs a delicious, smoky punch, the noodles being a sponge for that addicting wok hei flavour and savoury black bean sauce. The beef is super tender as well, while the bell peppers provide a slight crisp between bites.

Grabbed a breakfast here. My first time visit. Ghe satay beef is very soft. Easy to chew. The bacon is pan fried, not deep fried. Not too dry, not too oily. The Hong Kong style milk tea is silky. The tea and milk proportion is just fit. The tea flavour is also just fit. The space is clean. The sunroom is spacious. All tables can enjoy the sky view. The attendants are also welcoming and diligent. Also like the volume of the songs broadcasted in the cafe. Not disturbing customers' conversations. After all, a nice Hong Kong style cafe to visit.

We came here for lunch as I have been craving a HK style dish that I haven't had in a very long time: baked ox tongue with tomato sauce over rice. We also ordered baked Portuguese chicken, and a bowl of noodle soup. After a short wait that was less than 10 minutes, we were seated at a booth. A complimentary cup of tea or water is included. The service was fast, and efficient. New City has different menu specials for breakfast, lunch, or tea time (2:30pm to 6pm). We liked that a choice of soy milk, hot lemon water or HK tea was included with the meal combos that were all reasonably priced from $13 to $14.50 each. You can choose to start with either a borscht or cream soup for the baked specials. The portions were also pretty good as we had to pack up some of the chicken and noodle soup to go. We will definitely be back and with friends and family next time to try the sizzling plate set as well as other specials.

Bright restaurant. Tables are not crowded together. Feel comfortable. Food quality is ok. Have chicken on rice with black pepper sauce today. Come with soup and drink. Cold drink only add $1. Black pepper sauce has the right spicy level. However, the chicken feels a little bit mushy. Also the dish comes with ZERO veggie. Some other restaurants for same price will give some carrot and corns at least.

Classic spot. Been coming here for a long time with my family. Always (almost) get the mixed steak sizzling plate meal 鐵板雜扒餐 (I want a bit of everything). Chose the cream soup to pair - comforting primer before the colossal main. Plate came with fries, carrots, sausage, sliced ham, bacon, chicken wings, steak, pork chop. Black pepper sauce always hits. Everything was so juicy and fresh. Spaced out my bites with white rice in between. HoT HK milk tea and ice cream were the perfect conclusion to this homey meal. Dad got the Portuguese beef brisket with spaghetti. His usual. Flavourful but borders more on curry. Waiting for the next time I come!

One of the Hong Kong-style cafes in New Kennedy Square with reasonable prices and a menu full of choices. A must-try dish is the 鐵板牛扒餐 (sizzling steak meal), cooked medium-rare. The steak is as large as my two hands, fresh, and tastes great. Definitely worth a visit!

3 stars means ok. It is normal. Not good, not bad. I went for tea time at 330pm and ordered a beef brisket and tenders rice flat noodles with hot lemon water. The tender is soft like a jello, but the briskets are a bit tough and dry. That's why it is 3 stars.
