Nepali Momo House and Hakka Cuisine McLaughlin Road

I am extremely disappointed. While the momos were good in my previous visits, the service has been consistently poor recently. I’ve always had high expectations, but today was the last straw. I picked up steamed chicken momos and, upon getting home, found that the sauce portion was ridiculously small—barely enough for four momos. Despite having ordered extra sauce, the total amount in both containers was far from enough to cover even half the order. I called to address the issue, and the person on the phone was polite and understanding, acknowledging that it was a mistake made by a new employee and offering a replacement order. However, the manager flatly refused, stating they could only provide extra sauce, and only if I drove all the way back to the restaurant—something I was not willing to do at 9 PM, especially when it was an error on his teams side. This level of service is completely unacceptable. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for something and not receive what you’ve rightfully paid for. I strongly recommend checking your entire order before leaving, as it’s clear they don't care about delivering the right experience.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The owner took the time to personally introduce himself and engage in conversation, which made our visit feel warm and welcoming. His attention to his guests truly reflects his dedication to creating a memorable dining experience. The restaurant environment is inviting, with a clean and comfortable dining area that enhances the overall ambiance. The food was exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. This place has now become one of our regular dining spots, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Today we came for lunch and we tried the varities of momo which is kothey,kurkure,jhol and steam momo.momo itself is soft yet slightly chewy, offering a perfect bite that holds together without being overly thick. When you break into a momo, you’re met with a filling that’s juicy, aromatic, and seasoned just right. The star of momo, though, is often the dipping sauce— a fiery tomato-based achar that brings a beautiful contrast of heat and tang, taking each bite to new heights.

We came across this restaurant randomly but now it’s our favourite place to go for hakka cuisine. They have such nice vegetarian options and service is amazing. The food is superb. You can see the effort behind each dish. The precision, the taste amazing.

Amazing food, pricing is good for the portion size. Nice and polite staff but very slow or maybe the lead was busy in training new staff. We got chili chicken momos (fried, they come with saucy gravy over them), kurkure momos (fried, these come without sauce) Szechuan fried rice, chili chicken gravy. Everything was tasty and fresh. Chili chicken was a little different from other hakka places but GOOD DIFFERENT. Definitely coming back for the food. Place was clean, casual and cozy ambience, washroom was also clean.

The ambiance at this restaurant is excellent, with good lighting and a pleasant aroma. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the staff are friendly and professional. We tried the steamed momo, which were fresh and delicious. While they may not be the most authentic tasting, they were still quite enjoyable. The momo achar could use some improvement, but overall, I would rate the steamed momos 8/10. We also had the hakka shrimp and chicken chow mein. Similar to the momo, it may not be the most authentic, but it was tasty and the portion size was generous. I would rate the chow mein 7/10. I definitely recommend giving this place a visit!

“Best steamed Momos” and “Best street style Hakka” Despite its quiet appearance, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations. It has become my top Hakka and Momos in the GTA. The Manchurian Fish instantly transported me back to Mumbai's street Chinese food—it was absolutely fantastic! The Szechuan Chowmein noodles were equally impressive, with a delightful wok hei that elevated the dish. Don't miss out on their steamed momos—they're a must-order! However, I found the fried ones to be average. The Chilli Beef was incredibly tender, almost melting in your mouth with each bite. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a try! Tips: Visit them over the weekend, they have live music.

I recently dined at this newly opened Nepali Momo House restaurant and had an outstanding experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal in a clean and inviting atmosphere!
