My Place Fish & Chips

I enjoyed a delicious dinner at My Place Fish and Chips! This evening, I tried out their Scallops & Chips!! A very tasty meal!!!

They got haggis and black pudding! They got my order wrong and gave me haddock instead of haggis. Their food was good though and they have plenty of tarter sauce and vinegar. It is great their wall has these nice posters about Scottland and food and recipes there.

My first time dining in as I usually do take away. Great and quick services! The chocolate shake is delicious and yummy. Coleslaw is fresh and creamy ... not too vinegary ... just the right balance. The fish and chips are what keeps me coming back.

My first time here at My Place . The lunch special Grouper and Chips was excellent . For a great price . Service was excellent . I would definitely go back . It's the first I had Grouper at a fish and chips place . And it was light and tasty . I highly recommend .

A cosy little restaurant without much of the updates in terms of looks. The fish is done well with a thin and light batter almost like tempura. Good job to the chef. Service is lacking when you see servers on the phone and not refilling glass of water and oblivious to your needs for takeout boxes or bill. And the boxes are so small you could not put a fish in there. Haha

We ordered 2 haddock and chips, pickles beets and 1 irn bru. We are very impressed with the fish, such a large piece and fish was very thick and batter crispy. Chips fresh and tasty just like we remember them from Scotland. The whole meal was fresh and delicious! I was a little concerned about the Irn Bru cost of $4.50, thought it was for a can, but it was a large 500ml bottle. That was a very pleasant surprise! We will definitely try again! Update This time our fish was so small and thin. I was in shock. The black pudding was large. Unfortunately they forgot to include malt vinegar and tarter sauce. Our saturday treat was very disappointing. I hope this is not a permanent change.

The food is great! Not too much batter, and not too greasy. I felt very comfortable post meal. We ordered a family pack (halibut) with an order of Haggis and Chips and extra gravy and coleslaw (the large sides are 8 ounces/1 cup).

Went there after a recommendation from my Brothers Coworker. Pros:- -This place looks different and has an amazing decor with all the scottish memorabilia and fish facts. -Went there in Snow so it was mostly empty. There are lot of seats and good amount of space. -The Halibut and Haddock were both amazingly cooked with Crispy layer.The best i have ever had in Toronto so far. -Fresh and thick Chips .Even Cold crunchy ones tastes amazing with Coleslaw. -Great tasting creamy coleslaw with Shrimp and Scallops(Both Greasy) complementing the fish. - Coffee tasted dark ,fresh and great. Cons:- The only downside i could find is the service which is why i am giving 4 stars. The person who served us seemed dry and wanted to get it over with and did not check on us for refills at all. They looked understaffed as there was only one cook and one waitress. There were no greeting or smile from any of them and cook acted as a cashier as well. Update : On second visit ,the person who served us was jolly and engaging . Great service with a smile. Updated to 5 stars. Other than that ,i recommend it for fish and chips.
