Food was really good. Loved the atmosphere. Servers are super nice. Got the Mokutan 10 Set skewers, FYI you cannot pick the sauce for the skewer sets, it is chefs choice. You can only pick the sauces for buying individual skewers. It would be nice to know beforehand but the sauces were all pretty good so it wasnt a big issue. Their super spicy sauce is VERY spicy, my korean husband who loves to torture himself daily with spicy food said it was really spicy even for him. I took a small lick and noped out. So if you love spicy try it! Overall great place, would come back with friends to try more stuff since we only got the skewers. Parking was a bit of an issue at the back, might be better to park across the street at galleria or take the bus.

All quite tasty, our favourite was the mushroom skewer, spicy chicken skewer, beef tataki and the soup. All had different flavouring left us yearning for more. Our stomach didn't agree but it's fine . The hardest part was finding the door to get in the restaurant without the handle being a different colour the door was flush with the rest of the entrance design. I would say the menu here has a vast variety than most izakaya I've been to uptown. Raw bar as well as skewers and noodles and soups! Service was well paced so that I was able to make a nice video without the food getting cold. The vibes were quite chill with a good amount of rustle and bustle as the night went on. Would come back to try other items! Don't compare this with Japan experience because it's really unfair. Comparing with others in Toronto this place is pretty good. What we ate: - MOKUTAN SET (5 types of 🍢 2 each) - SABA SHIOYAKI - TAKO WASABI - BEEF TATAKI - Oysters - Oyster Bay white wine - TAKO - USHIO-JIRU (Clam soup)

Highly recommended Izakaya in Toronto. They offer so many kinds of skewers. None of them got me disappointed. You can choose either with salt or sauce as well as trying both of them to compare its taste! Other than the skewers, I got fried oysters and shrimp mayo. They are now my favorite bites! It’s a little bit far from downtown, but when you are in the area, you might wanna go there for your dinner.

Craved for some Japanese Izakaya dishes in Toronto. Heard good things about this joint and did not regret at all. Everything, and I say everything was tasteful, delicious and fresh.

Their ODEN (soup) was very flavourful and filled with generous amounts of seafood and my fave, fish cakes! The CORN CHEESE was on point and we were surprised by their HOTATE KIWI dish. Scallops paired with kiwi. The MENTAIKO UDON was rich and creamy and, of course, we had to have some OYSTERS. Really fresh and had a clean flavour, added a little mignonette and squeeze of lemon. I was also really feelin the vibes of the space from the wooden booths to the stylized decor and to the vintage Japanese imagery. It sets the mood for a good time with some friends sharing some great food and drinks.

Been here a few times now and overall it’s been a good experience. However this last visit the food definitely lacked flavor. They served the deep fried oysters with the wrong sauce, the seafood soup tasted blend and almost like drinking boiled water, the corn and cheese was so oily that you couldn’t even eat it (didn’t take photo) and same for the vegetable eggplant. The pancake was overwhelming with sauce. Overall not the best experience but all the previous ones have been great. Service is always excellent so complaints there. Fresh oysters are cheap.

Love this new spot! Decor is on point and food is pretty tasty. The yakitori skewers are on point and really enjoyed the yuzu sawa cocktail. Service was a tad slow but they were busy For more great eats around GTA, check out and follow my feed @instantonium on Instagram

Visited early on a Saturday and was greeted by friendly staff. The menu is mostly Japanese food, yet, there were a few Korean dishes too. The specialty is yakitori, food on skewers and they have a big choice. My favourite was the shiitake mushroom one, the chicken meatball tsukune was also good. All the others were pretty good and I also tried the chicken thigh, shrimp and leek. I saw the ebi mayo too and had to try it. This is a larger dish and the shrimp was excellent. The beer was reasonably priced and they had a good selection of sake and soju. On the front cover of the menu they advertise oysters and I noticed they had quite a few udon dishes too. The staff were excellent and worked efficiently as the restaurant has only been open a little time they did very well. The facilities were clean. The prices were reasonable, not being in a prime location they were a little cheaper and there are some good deals on beer. With yakitori there's always the temptation to eat more.
