Minami Toronto follows the pioneering footsteps of sister restaurant Miku and Minami , introducing the Aburi style or flame seared technique to Toronto's thriving sushi scene in 2008. Seasonal and regional ingredients as well as Ocean Wise seafood options are integrated into dishes to reflect the diversity of responsible food choices. Traditionally trained Japanese chefs are inspired by global flavors and cutting edge techniques to create a new style of cuisine. Amazing ambiance, good food, but the service could be better. I think for the price you're getting good quality food and great presentation. Our expectations for the service was not met. We were sat down at 12pm, but our order was not taken until 12:45pm - after which we flagged a different server. It wasn't very busy. If you go don't be afraid to ask another server for help :)

Minami offers a truly delightful dining experience. The environment is warm and inviting, with a cozy and refined ambiance. While it was a bit noisy, it didn’t take away from the overall charm. The service was attentive, the menu beautifully curated, and the dishes absolutely delicious. The pacing of the courses was well-timed, allowing us to savor each one. It was a wonderful evening in great company. Highly recommended!

WOW! Amazing service, delicious food, fun ambiance. Our waitress today was AMAZING, super patient and explained everything very throughly. The food was absolutely delicious and totally worth the price. Zero complaints.

Tasty offerings, excellent service, beautiful interior. Yes, it's pricey, but you get top level quality. Tried a bunch of dishes, with the standouts being the wagyu striploin (melts in your mouth), beef sukiyaki pot roast (excellent savoury-sweet dish, would have liked more of that tender beef), minami roll (delicate yet flavourful), and carrot cake (cake was light, carrot and pineapple was a great combo). Also pretty good were the chicken nanban (tasty without being overly oily) brussel sprouts (good char, generous bacon), otoro with caviar (great combination), tuna roll (a bit heavy on the rice but good spice), and coconut strawberry pie (puffy and airy). Overall, a definite treat!

Loved everything about this restaurant. We ordered the salmon sushi and the waygu steak and it was heaven with every bite!! The Kyoto in spring drink was delicious as well. The one comment I would make is that the portions are small but for a cuisine like this, it really is worth it!

In a very beautiful setting with music you’d expect in a night club we had some good sushi and sashimi. Fish really fresh, broccolini with sesame sauce very tasty. Waiter was maybe a bit too eager, asking us 4 times if everything is alright while eating and interrupting our conversation.

Highly recommend coming here for happy hour because items on the appetizers list are lower. So if you want to taste test this restaurant come during this time. The staff were amazing, very considerate, and helpful. Atmosphere is beautiful and very luxurious. Food was delicious, seasoned well, and creamy. I just can’t justify the price unfortunately especially with the portion size.

I’ve been enjoying everything in this restaurant! Their salmon dish is exceptional! My waitress, Mai, was very thoughtful and brought me a blanket when she saw I was feeling cold after eating the sorbet. Highly recommended for gatherings or dining solo.
