The food was not good at all. The service was rude and it was a very bad experience for both me and my elderly uncle's sister who went. The seating at the tables is very small between the table and the seat so it's cramped. Cash only in a plastic world?!? No thanks... Definitely not worth going to.

Came for brunch with my family, service was great, owner was funny and chill, food was DELICIOUS (especially the crispy hash browns and bacon…yum!). My husband loved the toast and thought it was made from homemade bread. Would absolutely recommend. Bring cash to pay for meal, not a big deal, just a heads up.

Midway is a wonderful place run by a hardworking family. You can see they put so much care into everything they do, from the friendly atmosphere to the delicious food they serve. In a world full of fast food, it’s amazing to find a restaurant that feels so warm and welcoming. As an immigrant, I appreciate places like this because they make you feel at home. It’s important to recognize and support small businesses that focus on quality and care, and Midway is a perfect example of that. If you want a place where you can relax and enjoy good food made with passion, Midway is a must-visit.

The Midway Diner is a cash-only, straightforward all-day breakfast restaurant with a very retro atmosphere. The friendly waitress provided excellent service. We ordered the country breakfast with two eggs and sausage, and the BLT Sandwich. The food was delicious and well-seasoned. Overall, the Midway Diner is a great spot for a tasty, classic breakfast experience. Do note, they do have an ATM on-site if you need. Also, offer 6-7 parking spots on the side and are conveniently located with a bus stop just outside.

Nice little diner close to the Barrie waterfront. Nice and cosy with a very retro feel. Servers were super nice and friendly. Had the Diablo Benedict with fried mash (fried mashed potato with a bit of onion that’s crispy to be like a hash brown). Kids had a breakfast poutine which they liked. Would definitely come back if we are in the area.

In all fairness, I only tried one dish, which was a cheese omelet. I was not fond of the fried mash, too salty. The omelet was served with a very small piece of cantaloupe, I would have liked to see a more substantial piece of fruit. The rye toast was saturated with butter, making it soggy. The omelet itself was okay. The coffee was rather stale. The atmosphere was retro nostalgic, very cool!. The staff was friendly. I would give this place another try.

This place is amazing! Since the beginning the customer service is great. The breakfasts are tasty and the prices are worth it. If you pass by Barrie I would highly recommend to stop by.

2022 July 3.5★ A small restaurant serving the community. There's about 8 to 10 tables in all. Step inside and it's a bit retro with the theme of a Midway dinner as the name suggests. Breakfast wrap $8.99 It's ok. Nicely done. Pretty much as expected. BLT $7.99 Bacon lettuce and tomatoes. Pretty standard faire here. Nothing bad. Done well. Breakfast poutine $11.99 The hash itself is cut up potatoes pan fried. Would be better if it was deep fried IMO. The peameal bacon adds a good saltiness in the poutine. The eggs were done very well. Overall not bad. Just so happens to be on front of a bus stop. Also conveniently located near centennial beach. Note - on Weekends they only serve breakfast. Worth a visit.
