Midami Sushi

Nothing compares to Midami Sushi! The absolute best sushi place in the area. The rolls are humongous and soooooo tasty. Everything always tastes incredibly fresh and the presentation is also beautiful. When I was pregnant I was still able to eat their sweet potato maki rolls (pictured on the left) which are incredible, I didn’t even miss my usual faves! I never get sushi anywhere else because nothing beats this place. Can’t recommend it enough.

Very busy for a Friday night, people either ordering out and constant flow of folks coming in to eat (despite a few tables). Great portions and service. The hot food is great. The sushi is larger than I’d normally like it to be however the thin amount of rice works for me in the California roll. As in more items less rice (no so in other restaurants). My second time coming here despite the many years I’ve lived nearby. Great place! The chicken katsu is crispy and yummy. Loved it all except for the spring roll. Nothing too salty and everything flavourful

We were craving for miso soup and sushi. The miso soup was good but they only add scallions. I personally do not like cream cheese in sushi so that was my least favourite. All ingredients paired well but it just wasn’t my taste. I’ve tried most of the dynamite sushi’s here on multiple occasions and they are all good. We have ordered vegetarian sushi but can’t really provide a genuine feedback. It definitely pales in comparison to the seafood option. The table next to us ordered the Japchae and I heard them comment that it was really good. So maybe I will try that next time. We weren’t very hungry so didn’t order much but I could see couples going to town with their orders. The place is clean and there’s discount if you pay cash. Service is quick. Although I would prefer if the server checked on us a few times instead of we having to call her. No alcoholic beverages on the menu but I don’t see anyone really craving for it when the food so good. I would definitely eat here again as this place serves great sushi’s that do not fall apart like others do. You can see the quality and skills in the ingredients, presentation and taste.

This is probably one of the best sushi places I've had in Durham, let alone Oshawa. You can tell they use high quality fish, and that they pay attention to their craft. The sashimi is really thick, the sushi rolls are pretty big and while the fish on the nigiri is more typical in size, it is are still really good! While this place may charge a bit more than other places in the area, the quality and size justifies the price. More importantly, if you have a shell fish allergy, they will make the accommodations for you. It's surprising how many places will not do this so for someone like me, it is extremely important. Definitely give Midami Sushi a try if you want some high quality sushi and are in the North Oshawa area! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Midami is an unassuming sushi restaurant. You would never know it was so good, from the outside! But boy, oh boy! This is some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. Large meaty rolls, with a beautiful presentation. Fresh, crispy, delicious, and fair prices! I loved it! The service was also super jovial. The decor is okay - nice, but okay. This is the only area where it pulls down the score. The street location is also not adding to its prestige. For a casual and pleasant sushi outing, I highly recommend Midami Sushi. Excellent!

Staff always greet you with a smile and thank you for coming. The food is amazing. The best sushi I have ever had and always the most fresh. I’ve had the poke box a couple of times and it is a huge portion. Other favourite is the Alaska roll.

This is by far the best sushi in Durham. PERIOD. A friend of ours told us about this place but we were skeptical. We've been on the hunt for a sushi spot for a while, and some of the places we tried were ...well...mid at best. I knew we might have a winner by how they helped us navigate the menu. They were friendly and speedy. When I picked up the food with my son, they even gave him a complimentary lollipop! He loved it! Now, to the food. When we opened the package, it was love at first sight 😍 . The presentation was great! And once we ate it, we went from love at first sight to love at first bite. Keep up the amazing quality!! This place needs to be known!

Guys. Food quality great, environment cozy, selection assortment great! This is the place is it. best quality sushi I’ve had in Durham. Sashimi was fresh and thickly sliced. Each roll made packed solid and presented beautifully.
