MeNami Udon & Izakaya

Food was good. Nothing that exceeded expectations. Service was slow during my visit. However the atmosphere was very nice. I would definitely recommend the udon. Would not recommend the dessert.

This place does udon good! I had the mushroom and veggie udon and it did not disappoint. Would also recommend the torched salmon and my fav the takoyaki. Best date night place for food then go across the street to Claw Me Baby and win some stuffies

With the price range they offer this is a great hangout place for young adults. Appetizers and main were really good. I'll definitely visit again often.

We went for the $35 summerlicious dinner and really enjoyed the food! The corn kakiage was crispy and chewy and yummy. The salmon tataki was good too. I really liked the nagasaki udon! The udon had a nice texture and the broth was delicious with a kick of spice to it. The soba also tasted good, but the vegetable tempura was bland. The blueberry creme brulee was well-made but the blueberry flavour wasn't very present. The Japanese cheesecake was quite well-made too, and we enjoyed it. We were sat on the patio and felt neglected from a service perspective though. Would return for the udon!

Good atmosphere for groups, came here for summerlicious. Tapas (beef tataki, torched salmon) tasted fresh. Tempura soup udon was fine but 1 shrimp tempura and 2 pieces of veggie tempura is a little stingy. Service was nice but not that attentive with it being a less than half-full dining room. Forgot to give me a soup spoon with my udon and I had to flag them down to get one. Also, when asked, they said they don’t take AMEX which appears to be false. The AMEX website says they do and they are even participating in the shop small promotion. If not a mistake, then it’s pretty misleading to improperly disclose the accepted payment methods.

This is my favourite udon place in the city! Our favourite things to get are the corn kakiage, the salmon cream udon and the oven baked cheese udon. The flavours are so creamy and perfectly seasoned. I’ve been here many times over the last few years and the flavours have always been consistent and the staff has been always very welcoming. The area can get a little more rowdy at night on the weekends so just be careful about that. The texture of the udon noodles is also great, makes me miss my home!

We went as a table of three with a reservation and got a decent table near the patio. Their drinks are great and I would even go just for these and some sides, with friends. They play all sorts of music and while we were there, we heard all the way from Japanese rock to Queen and had a blast. Their portions appear to have gotten slightly smaller but I guess they gotta do what they gotta do. The taste of everything was lovely! I just have one negative impression which was of the salmon carbonara which looked like it was directly from a frozen vacuum sealed pack and boiled and placed on top of the dish. I thought that was very unappealing and felt kind of bad that the birthday boy we were taking out had the least visually appetizing entreé. But he still ate it all and seemed to enjoy it so...

We just moved into the neighborhood and we wanted to look for a place with a fun atmosphere to get good food and drinks. MeNami exceeded our expectations. The winter drink special was a nice introduction to the Sake and we found that 9oz was a perfect amount. The Udon was amazing! We ordered Cheese Udon, Spicy Cream and Vegetable Tempura and they were well seasoned and tasted amazing! This really is a great spot and a place we'll be visiting again! Check it out if you're looking for a nice spot for drinks and food with friends.
