Mel’s Spicy Thyme

Decided to stop and try this place for the first time today, and we were amazed with our food! It was absolutely delicious, filling and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. We are looking forward to trying more of the menu.The staff/owner were a delight and very friendly, this made for a great experience. The store was very clean and well taken care of, I will be a returning customer and telling everyone about this wonderful place! Thank you! *Ordered the boneless chicken roti and some doubles*

Undercooked goat, old stale dry chicken. No pride in what they do or what they serve, staff are incapable of taking and deliveringa simple order or fixing mistakes. Don't waste your money or your time. This was $25. Inedible.

I ordered from this place the other day. I really liked how they packaged everything neatly. With everything I ordered, I was nervous the food would be spilling and leaking everywhere. Not the case. All items were individually and carefully packaged for transport and arrived in perfect condition. I got the chicken roti, jerk chicken doubles, and goat curry. Everything tasted great! My only critique would be to make the food a little spicier or at least have the option to make it spicy. Other than that the food was amazing. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

I stumbled across this restaurant and give it five stars! Bowmanville needed this spot. The staff are wonderful, patient and friendly! I had the king fish meal (stewed) and a double. The food is delicious and a must try. There are seats inside. 😃

Wow, absolutely amazing! I had order the jerk chicken & rice and peas great portion, tasted great! I really like that they put your potato salad or coleslaw in a separate container. I also got a double and it definitely was the best double I ever had bursting with flavours and just tasted so fresh. I for sure found my new spot!

Two excellent experiences with Mel's Spicy Thyme. Excellent food, service, and staff. Great to see a quality West Indian place in Clarington. Ordered the beef roti, and have had their doubles a couple times.

I don’t get Roti often, but I may change that habit because of this new restaurant I was asked by someone to get an opinion of the boneless goat meat Roti, and their regular doubles. Despite it not being my chosen flavour of meat, the roti was fantastic. The portion was large, and it was very authentic. The double was also fantastic and bursting with flavour I believe it was Mel who took our order, and she was very pleasant and enthusiastic as this is her first restaurant. As an additional note, my wife saw an employee drop the double on its way out, and they tossed it and immediately made a new one. This is a trust worthy business putting their love and care into it without cutting corners. Love to see it, and for it to be local

Love this place already. I stopped in for lunch about 1:30 today and immediately greeted with this lovely person. Asked about what's recommended and got the jerk chicken roti. After a quick chat it was ready - maybe 5 minutes, nice and hot. Paper box with a liner and green dish takeout cutlery (nice touch). The roti was fantastic- delicate and the layers come apart - good flavor and texture. Inside the filling had a good ratio of jerk chicken to potato, and it starts nicely spiced. "Runny nose" kind of spice level, & very flavorful. Didn't find any gristle in the meat. Go check it out - I might have a new favorite for West Indian here. This lady takes humble pride in her food for real ♡
