Wow! Been meaning to go here for awhile and now I'm mad I waited so long! We had arrancini and pizza and it was so delicious. The wood fired pizzas are 10/10. Cozy, authentic place with good staff and great food. Try it as soon as you can!

Went for a family dinner with 6 of us. Made reservations and was seated as soon as we arrived. Our waitress Lisa was so kind and knowledgeable. She made excellent recommendations. The gentleman making the wonderful pizzas was talking with us and made us also feel welcome. Will definitely be back ! Thank you for an amazing meal and experience!

You had me at wood fired pizza and phylo wrapped cheesecake! Fine dining in downtown Welland with house made, mouth watering wood fired pizza and chicken parmesan! We started with the baked Prosciutto and goat cheese with pesto appetizer which was savoury and full of fresh flavours. The chicken parmesan and Trappanese pizza were by far a must try! Watching the pizza chef create our pizza was an absolute pleasure! A true masterpiece that we savoured (caramelized onions and Italian sausage are truly the perfect marriage). We finished off the evening with an espresso and the ultimate tiramisu and phyllo wrapped cheesecake. Absolute fire! We can truly say that these were the best tiramisu and cheesecake that we have ever had! This restaurant has fantastic owners who take so much pride in sharing their culinary creations and expertise with exemplary service. We will be back and can guarantee when you try Matteo’s, you will be a repeat guest!

Do your stomach a favor and stop in for the best cheesecake you'll ever have. You can have an amazing conversation with the owners and chefs while you eat too. Amazing service, delicious dinning, and a dessert that will make your eyes roll. I had two in one sitting and wish I had more.

I’ve never had such an experience at a restaurant…. Between the atmosphere, Matteo and staff, and the food. The food is all handmade and the cheesecake… is completely out of this world. We actually came here two nights in a row because we couldn’t find better! (I’m a stickler for not wanting to go to the same place twice when I’m traveling.) Please do yourself a favor, GO HERE!! You won’t regret it!

Matt brings the very best in Italian fine cuisine. I've traveled and dined in many fine places and Matt's interpretation and fusion of flavours is truly elite. I've been to this fine establishment several times and I've never been disappointed. The staff is attentive and professional and the food is the finest you will find. It was our first time at Matteo's with our family, and we were absolutely impressed and satisfied with the entire experience. For a Tuesday, it was packed but the food came out promptly. The kids especially liked seeing their pizza being made. The food was phenomenal!! So much so that we have already picked out what we are going to order next time. The house-made pasta, pizza dough and sauces, along with the quality and customer service is what brings this restaurant to a whole different level. Thank you for an amazing dining experience and for the warm hospitality!

A very nice, small, rustic authentic Italian restaurant. All the food was delicious and we especially loved the carbonara and fettuccine Alfredo with added chicken. Owner stopped by the table and very nice. You definitely need a reservation since there aren't too many tables and they get a lot of big groups. Highly recommend!
