Highly recommend. Not really sure what the low reviews are as of recent, my experience was fantastic! Similar to when I last got take out there (a few years ago), pizzas are made as ordered and take a normal amount of time to cook so expect to wait 15 or so if ordering take out. Quality and taste is still great as well. It was suggested to try the pizza of the day special, a pesto-based + soppressata. Super delicious !! Almost ate the whole thing myself lol. It was a tad oily though, but the pesto was so fantastic and authentic. The interior is designed as a great family restaurant and I highly recommend coming here!

We’ve been coming to Mattachioni since it opened and to the previous restaurant before. It use to be my favourite place but over the last 1-2 years, it’s really gone downhill. Tonight, we had a calamari, tagliatelle bolognese and pizza. The pasta was unseasoned and bland. The pizza was good but cold. The calamari was fine. The dishes were all $20-25 so the final bill was $75. For that price I’d expect better food. The service is also slow and impersonal. While friendly, they always seem understaffed. Many times we wait for 5-10 minutes to get seated even when the dining area has very few guests. The limited servers are busy serving retail guests and not focused on seating people wanting to eat. We’ve left a few times due to this before. Tonight, we were seated but nobody checks on us, we had to get our own high chair for our kid, we had to flag someone down to refill water (even though the server walked by our empty bottle several times). For $75 for 3 dishes, I’d expect at a minimum some level of service and flavoured pasta. I’m disappointed with the Mattachioni and miss its glory days. We won’t be coming back even though we live nearby.

Disappointing Experience: Avoid the Pizza Margherita! I recently ordered two Pizza Margherita for take-out, but unfortunately, they were a letdown. The pizzas lacked flavor, were incredibly bland, and shockingly, had barely any mozzarella cheese. What a waste of time and money! I'm relieved I scratched this place off my list. Initially, I was curious, but now I know to steer clear. Save your taste buds and wallet and skip this spot.

the service was okay! we had to ask for water and napkins, but the waiters were consistent checking up on us. there was a spider in my pasta but before i found that out it was okay 😀. they took it off my bill of course but sheesh.

I visited this restaurant for brunch. The staff seemed busy and I had to wait for a bit to get my drink, but they were friendly. I really enjoyed the salad, but the pasta and pizza were a little disappointing. While the dough was great, the seasoning was off. The pasta sauce was bland, and some parts of the pizza were too salty. However, the overall vibe of the place is nice.

I'm so glad these guys opened up in the East end, I used to drive to Dupont to get their bread. If you want the greatest sourdough bread made in house , this is the place.... KILLER!!! Everything they make here is on another level. I’ve added photos of some of our favourite baked items and how I serve them to my family at home! Focaccia sandwich & their lemon olive oil cake.

I’ve been coming here regularly and they never disappoint. The food is simple, but the high quality ingredients elevate it to a new level. Most recently I had lunch here with some friends. We shared the salumi board, which was a great selection of cured meats and pickled vegetables. The trout sandwich was exceptional, their sourdough bread is always a highlight. The pizza has a perfect thin crust and is always cooked just right. I’m not a dessert person but this is the one place I can never resist having a coffee and after meal dessert. The gelato, tiramisu, and especially the cannoli are my personal recommendations. The last time I went the service was a little slow, but this seems to be an exception and not the norm. Usually the service is excellent. They also have a great selection of cocktails and beers.

Not a great experience. The pizzas we tried were very good however everything else was mediocre. We tried a panini, which was nothing more than okay, a burrata salad that was boring a pesto pasta dish (the only pasta of which sauce isn't tomato based) that was very mediocre. We might have ordered the wrong dishes as the place has great reviews and the pizzas were indeed solid, but the combination of what we received and a very arrogant and impatient service left us we no desire to come back.
