Matagali Restaurant

1000/10 experience! The food was so superb and the staff were so sweet and welcoming. The establishment had such a lovely atmosphere and I loved spending my time there! I'm recommending this place to all of my friends. It's a great hidden gem located in downtown Toronto!

It was a lovely dinner and I felt very welcomed there. Me and my friend had the pad Thai noodles. I had it with chicken and he had it with the prawn both extremely good. Cooked everything themselves and perfectly. I left the restaurant with some of my food still left because it is so filling, A great size portion if you are terribly starving, delicious, and extremely well-made!!!

This is the best little restaurant we have eaten at in Toronto and elsewhere for that matter. The food is amazing and is prepared per your order, every thing was super fresh and spiced perfectly. We had the Thia fish curry and an Indian lamb dish Jalfrezi I think it was. So delicious. Highly recommend.

Humble, no nonsense Indian/Thai cuisine. Chicken biriyani was on par with the biriyani served at The Host Indian restaurant. Nicely presented too. They took the time to prepare it to a good standard and it showed in taste and presentation. Interior is cozy and tidy. Truly an underrated gem in the downtown area

My mother in law and I were in the mood for Thai and Indian food. We happen to come across Matagali restaurant in downtown Toronto. This family owned restaurant is the best of both worlds. We ordered appetizers which were very flavourful with a great texture. We couldn’t decide on which appetizer we wanted, so the owner suggested we order half and half. Our mains were very large portion sizes and satisfied our empty bellies. Thank you for the great service.

Great hidden gem!!! Don't be fooled by the outside, it's really good food and not too expensive! The ladies helping us were gems. I had butter chicken and my husband had pad Thai. He said it's the best he's ever had! Mine was delicious too!

A nice little family-owned restaurant. The service was good, food came out slow but that's to be expected since it's a pretty small operation. Loved the chicken korma which had such a nice flavourful sauce and the lamb rogan josh was pull-apart tender. The price is justified by the large portions, we easily got two meals out of our order. We dined indoors but there was a nice-looking outdoor area as well! IMO: you might want to go elsewhere if you're in a time crunch, but if you just want to hang out and enjoy some yummy food, would definitely recommend this spot!

This place is a hidden gem! Butter chicken get it spicy and garlic naan. The meal was flavourful and atmosphere was great for a casual date night. Excellent customer service. We will be back for sure 😃
