匠之厨 Master Cooking House

This place surpassed my expectations. I was in the area for an event. I needed a quick bite at lunchtime with my kid. We both were craving Chinese. The reviews were very positive when we arrived. The parking lot was pretty dead for Sunday when we got in it was kind of magical, actually very cute and cosy and very well kept. It clearly family run and then so with lots of love. The food is pretty authentic and unique -definitely not one of the mill fast food or chain restaurant. We had the fried rice with shrimp with plenty of green peas and corn. The size was moderate. We also had the homemade fish balls with konjak. The fish ball soup was amazing and really hit the spot for a cold day we needed something warm and nourishing… It also has pieces of spinach and seaweed. I’m usually very sensitive to MSG, and there’s definitely no MSG in their food. I was a bit disappointed with the broccoli and crispy beef – the beef was a bit over fried. But otherwise very happy with the soup and the rice. Another note, the bathroom is probably one of the best bathrooms I’ve seen. Clearly well fought out in terms of the accessories. (it even had some mouthwash available) it had this sent inside the washroom that made it feel like it was a spa… I love this little spot . It’s a gem!

Homecooking style: simple yet delicious, free from additives. Also some really uniquely authentic Hubei cuisine 😋 store environment is nice and chilled. The fragrance at the entrance is terrific.

Got the braised beef noodle soup. Noodles and beef were good. Broth paired well with the entire bowl as well. Would have liked the portions to be larger for the price you pay though. Overall it was a good noodle spot in the area.

Came back few days after noticing this place. Very clean and cozy. Washroom is very clean... Actually the cleanest I have seen in a Chinese restaurant in the GTA . Service was excellent, I think he was the owner. He talked about the food, very engaging. We asked for the fish menu but they don't have due to availability of the particular fish they use. We ordered braised beef noodle soup and eggplant with minced beef. The eggplant dish was so good. Will order it again when I happen to come by again. Their food is not salty and no msg! Overall... I recommend this restaurant. Sorry no pictures of the food. I finished it before I realized I need to do a review 🤣

We had an early dinner at Master Cooking House and had a pleasant experience. Food was delicious and prices are good. There is ample parking in the complex. This place made us feel like having dinner at a house. Interior was decorated beautifully and homely. We were treated nicely by the staff.

Very homey spot that gives you a taste of authentic home cooked meals! Chef/owner is a nice lady that reminds me of a friend’s mom. Very passionate about her cooking, the ingredients she uses, and getting rich flavors without using MSG. I highly recommend this place whether you’re just looking for a bowl of soupy noodles or a few homey family style dishes paired with rice!

The atmosphere and food quality are amazing!! I will definitely either come back again or order from delivery. On rush hour you may have to wait for the table, but not too long. I recommend the signature dish as it has more flavor for person who prefer a bit salty taste. For Braised beef noodle soup tastes lighter but the beef still got the quality!

Super homey spot! Friendly sweet owners who are passionate about their healthy, no MSG food! Love the decor, the authentic and clean taste and their variety of traditional dishes and drinks ! I would def come back again! Their take out bags are also super cute ! Takes attention and detail in everything. Also side note but also one of the cleanest washrooms I’ve been in haha
