My expectations for Asia Bun may be a bit high having to come from an asia country. I must say their Pork bun is really rubbish... The meat are compressed into a perfect ball ( very factory feel ) and it's not tasty at all as it's all lean meat , dry and I only tasted soy sauce from how they marinate the meat. Meat use for Bao should consist of some fats and other than soy sauce there should be different layers of taste from saltiness to sweetness and with a pinch of aroma from garlic and spring onions.. They tasted exactly to those selling 6 for $4 ( frozen factory mass production ) in chinatown shops. I didn't manage to finish it ...

Love Mary Bun! The owner is so sweet and the food is really affordable. It's also very consistent—always tastes great. This restaurant was my first time trying Nanjing style siu mai/shaomai which are large dumplings filled with sticky rice and pork. They're rich and delicious and I love the texture. The dumpling wrapper is al dente and has a good firm chew. The pork is braised well so it's moist and very tender. I've also had the zongzi (sticky rice with fillings), which are even richer and excellent if you love a high fat braised pork. My roommate always gets the veggie steamed bun. They have such a pillowy soft texture! Definitely check Mary Bun out! I don't eat meat very often and there's not a lot of vegetarian food in the area. We would love if they made a vegetarian or vegan siu mai and/or zongzi with mushroom and tofu ❤️

I popped into this spot randomly and was tempted by their pork mooncakes. It was my first time trying them and they were so good! The pastry is flaky, sort of like an egg tart crust and they were generously filled with pork. It was nicely seasoned and tender. I actually ate them at home the day after I bought them. I followed the reheating instructions on the box and they came out perfect. I also got some of their frozen pork wontons to cook at home and they were great too! It reminds me of the ones my mom makes. Not sure if it was the owner, but the lady at the counter was so friendly and welcoming too. I will have to come back and try their baos and shumai!

The Beef Baos were filling and had good value proposition; really affordable. The Baos we’re really juicy inside. The filling could be improved from my experience. It’s literally a meatball inside the bao; tasty but didn’t expect the fillings to be compressed into a ball.

Amazing! My second time here, so far had steamed bao (pork) last time, and this time tried the crispy moon cakes. The food is so fresh and loaded with flavor. The moon cakes were crispy, flaky, packed with delicious filling, absolute perfection. Blown away by this shop, its a gem! The owner is also extremely nice and friendly, so if you are a first timer and aren't sure what to order, she will gladly recommend something based on what you like. You will definitely love whatever you end up trying! Go out and try this gem of a shop in toronto, ITS AMAZING!

Tried the baos (the fresh ground beef and the veggie - bok choy with shitake). Very fresh tasting. Juicy and flavourful. Simple like home cooking. For the price, very good deal. The lady who I assume is the owner was also nice. Good food but not outstanding.

Nice little cute sport for take out. A newly opened on Yonge street in the heart of Loren town. Very clean. Be aware this is not the traditional 烧卖 , instead of meat or shrimp or veg filling it is filled with flavoured rice, a lot of rice. We got egg yolks and pork, it was ok. It is Huge kind of like have a bowel of rice wrapped, it is not bad but it is not really 烧卖. This is the only prefer we tried so maybe other items on the menu is good if I get try again I will update this.

This is the authentic Nanjing style food I've been looking for! Reminds me of buns from Jingling Restaurant, a famous five star restaurant in Nanjing, when I was little. The shaomai, thank goodness, is not Cantonese style at all. I was tired of restaurants claiming to be from Nanjing / Shanghai area but turned out to be Cantonese... Came to Toronto for a concert, meant to go to another restaurant and ran into this one unexpectedly. The lady working there was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Jinling Daroubao or anyone who wants to try something authentic. I will bring a big cooling bag next time I come to Toronto and load it full!
