This place knows how to style their Japanese food unlike the typical fare found in other establishments. Staff make sure you are seated and served well. The food is outstanding!

We went and sit at their lovely patio with our dog. Seats inside filled up quickly while we were there, so reservation suggested. Service, atmosphere is wonderful wonderful. Food is extremely good as well, fresh ingredients, creative menu, but a little pricey.

Amazing. Potentially my new favourite restaurant in Toronto. Flavours were unique and balanced. The Nori Canapé with tiger shrimp had a nice crunch, fusion of different flavours, a really unique dish. The pressed salmon sushi was great. I usually I stay away from Atlantic salmon sushi, but this was a treat, flavours were so well balanced and interesting. Super fresh. The space had a light, open atmosphere, despite being a few steps down from the street level (they have a patio as well). Friendly and attentive staff. I will definitely be back to try other dishes to confirm that this wasn’t a fluke encounter :) What a gem!

Innovative dishes, tasted unique and layered. Can tell the owner/cook has spent much time, effort and creativity in perfecting their food. Will visit again. Highly recommend Hamberg Steak, Sashimi Don and Tuna on Crispy rice!

One of the most incredible salmon dons I’ve ever had - the plating was beautiful and very reasonable price. Salad and miso soup were so tasty as well. We also ordered the tacos and loved them so much we had to get a second order. It’s not the biggest restaurant so definitely try and make a reservation to make sure you have a table. Would make the trip out here for lunch everyday if I could!

Excellent and unique Japanese food. Pleasant staff, especially the owner. Service is sometimes a bit off. With patience it is always an enjoyable experience. Set menu for two (on weekends?) is always excellent and great value.

We liked the Scallop pressed sushi the best then the assorted tempura. Personally the tuna in the sashimi set, the texture was not to my liking but Uni was fresh! Overall good quality and freshness. Neat and cute details in the restaurant was nice touch. I wish the specials were written out on a menu as I find hard to grasp everything when server was reading us the specials.

My friend and I recently went to check out this bistro place, and we were absolutely amazed by the place, food and service! The location itself was so bright and cute, and the decor was lovely. The server was so kind and attentive, taking our plates away but making sure to give us the left over (authentic) wasabi. And the food… wow! We ordered the spicy salmon roll, the pressed, torched Hokkaido scallop sushi, and the sashimi platter. EVERYTHING WAS SO FRESH! The sashimi platter itself was pure art, and the squid was so sweet and tender. The salmon roll melted in the mouth, and the scallops were like eating clouds. We also got to share a salad, miso soup and complimentary crispy rice. On our second visit we got the Salmon Tataki, Agedashi Tofu and the Maru House Roll as three new dishes to try. The Salmon Tataki was smoky and delicious and the roll had Atlantic Salmon, Garlic Pickled Stem, crab and egg. The Agedashi Tofu was silken in texture and had a delicious, light Dashi broth that the server left us to have to enjoy with our remaining crispy rice. All scrumptious! It was such a lovely place, we will definitely be coming back again soon!
