Marcello's Market and Deli

TLDR *COCKROACH IN SALAD* I work in an office connected to the concourse where Marcello’s is located and had only heard good reviews from my colleagues about this place- you pay by the weight and can serve whatever hot foods and salads you want. I decided to try the place out after hearing so many good things and they did have a big selection to choose from- I chose a cream sauce pasta and filled half of my box with a mix of Caesar salad and plain lettuce, cucumbers and red onion. After sitting down to eat with my colleagues I had a gotten through my plain salad and made it to the Caesar when I noticed a brown oval on one of my pieces of Caesar salad. Needless to say I double checked to see what the croutons and everything else looked like before I panicked- but upon further inspection it was exactly what I feared: it was a cockroach drenched in the salad dressing. I looked at my colleagues and showed them in shock. They told me to take it back and show the people at Marcello’s. I ran back to the store and showed the lady at the front and she took the box and apologized and offered for me to grab anything else I wanted from the store. Kind as that is, why would I want anything else if I just almost ate a roach AND POTENTIALLY Ate others 😭. Anyways, I didn’t get a refund because she quickly took my salad to the back after offering me anything in the store. I was too in shock to take a picture or ask for my money back. But all this to say I won’t go back ever again. Stay safe friends! Also if you’re curious, the pasta was bland I had to add my own chili flakes on it for some flavour. And I paid around 11 dollars because I get a discount from working in the same building- otherwise the original price would have been 18.

Very very expensive for poor quality food. Also tried to charge me $5 for a small bottle of water, which is insane considering I can go two stores down and get the same water for $2.99.

Li would have given it 4 stars except that one of the dishes I picked was not fresh. The fake seafood crab salad is to be avoided. Everything else I picked was delicious. My favorite is the beets salad and the roasted sweet potatoes. I also had the two chicken dishes which looked like chicken Quorma and butter chicken bother tasted acceptable to me. It is definitely not cheap. 1 small container filled usually will cost about 10 dollars already.

Absolutely the worst food I’ve ever had in any type of restaurant in my entire life. I think they invented the word bland. I had to put ketchup on the food to make it slightly edible, however most of the food was thrown out. Nothing was fresh and it was way overpriced. 10 times more expensive than its value. I will never return to this location. I don’t recommend this location.

I bought my lunch here today and it cost me $18.00 and when I was eating I noticed my brown rice which indicated in their label that it is brown rice. So I called the store and complain about it. They said they have don’t have brown rice so what did I picked then it’s not brown rice? And they said I can bring in the store so I came I brought it in the store. When I get there the owner is pretending to be busy and ignoring me. What a worse customer service. I ended up living and the cashier is rudely you finished the food. Of course I ate some and not eat the rice to show it to you. Very poor service. If I get food poisoning today. I’ll sue you.

Amazing food, variety of food options also has a customizable sandwich station! I always come here for lunch during the weekdays. I love the boneless chicken selections. All the staff are friendly and provide great service.

I like their lunch. Their salad and hot food is great. I used to buy their muffins for breakfast as the muffins are big and tasty. However there were couple times I got the muffins, a the inside were not well cooked so I so longer go there for muffins.
