Mapo Pocha Soju Bar

Saying this was fried chicken surprised me, as this is not the Korean fried chicken you'd expect. Instead, yuringi is coated in a potato starch batter that presents an interesting contrast between a somewhat crispy exterior, and a chewy mochi-like texture on the inside. In place of a sticky gochujang sauce is also a chilli sour soy sauce that's equally delicious though, which isn't wasted with the bed of iceberg lettuce on the bottom.

We had a great time at Mapo Pocha Soju Bar. Very cozy vibe, great hot pot soups and soju cocktails, and super quick service. Overall it was also extremely affordable; great value for price! Would definitely go again!

All the food we ordered are amazing. My husband rates it 1st that we had tried a lot of Korean restaurant. He really likes the stir fried pork intestines. It was the best one he tried either Chinese or Korean restaurant.

It’s a lovely place with so many great memories. I’ve visited over 10 times, and the food is always outstanding, with service that’s top-notch. If you visit often enough to become a regular, the servers remember you, sometimes offering complimentary dishes and showing genuine interest. It’s a place you just want to keep coming back to. Highly recommended!

Great vibe and lively atmosphere to hang out with friends. I’ve been here a few times and I see this more as a drinking spot. They have a wide selection of drinks and they serve them in fun and interesting ways. Their food is not really the highlight in my experience. The kimchi cheese pancake for instance tasted, and was visibly, very greasy. The fried squid was bland and heavy on the dough and not the actual meat. The fried chicken is pretty decent - seasoned pretty well and not too greasy. Fries are a good texture too. I think the food is something good to order if you want something to snack on while drinking but wouldn’t recommend this place to someone myself for the food.

Pretty subpar place with extremely oily food. Their Korean pancakes are very doughy and don’t have much filling. The taste of all 3 dishes we got was not very flavourful. The service was good but they don’t split bills two ways. You’d think that would be easy. Quite disappointing. Please install a low ceiling sign in your bathroom.

I came here tonight! Food tasted great! The server was very friendly! My friend and I ordered the sweet corn, spicy rice cakes, spicy chicken, coke and sparkling water. Would come back again!

My friends and I came on a Thursday night and despite it pouring outside, the ambience was still great! Our group was quite big, so I am very thankful for the staff who were able to accommodate us! Food and drinks were great. Thank you for letting me and my friend charge our phones also! Will definitely return back here when visiting Toronto!
