Maki Momo

I ask specific for cooked salmon and the cashier lady told me Maki are raw fish and Onigiri are cooked fish so I purchased 3 Onigiri. To my disappointment the Onigiri turned out to be raw salmon and I cannot eat anything raw at this moment. I had to throw them away and wasted money just because the staff didn't care or have no knowledge about the products she is selling!

very nice guy (i think the owner) and food super yuummyyy 😋😋😋 i would amputate my leg if it meant i lived within walking distance of this delicious establishment but alas - everything is really well seasoned i did not realise sushi should have seasoning it is so yummy even w out soy sauce and wasabi (but they provide) - fish is fresh i have eaten some very nice sushi before (eg omakase) and even tho this is super reasonably priced the quality of the fish is veryy good - the atmosphere and music is super good VISIT IF U HAVE THE CHANCE 😁🤝

I bought some Maki Rolls from Makimomo inside FMP Oomomo. Such a good idea and convenient. Love the rolls and brought it to a friend BBQ party. Fresh and crispy. I can't wait to go back !!!

The seaweed is so crunchy! Didn’t understand the separate wrapping until I tried it, the seaweed is so crunchy and fresh, completely different experience than when you have rolls from other places! It’s still perfect when brought home! Also loved the take out bag!

Recently visited during opening week and although the atmosphere is very cute and looks promising, the food does not live up to the same standard. The posted menu was extensive but they only had a small selection for that day (9 hand rolls, 3 onigiri). We tried 6 hand rolls and 2 onigiri, as they had a Buy 3 Get 1 Free promo. We also got a free drink for posting online, but we were disappointed to find out it was basic pop options rather than Japanese drinks or soup like other establishments. While we tried almost every offering (salmon, scallop, shrimp, hamachi), everything seemed to taste the same - like plain rice. The rice was not seasoned in the rolls or onigiri, and the filling was sparse. Some of the fish felt a bit mushy and lacked any flavour. We were excited for the opening of this nearby hand roll spot, but if this was the quality during opening, we don't have high hopes. Hoping they will taste their own menu and improve.

I recently visited Maki Momo during their soft opening and was eager to try out their offerings, especially since it's conveniently close to me and I had been eyeing it even before it officially opened. They currently have a soft promotion: buy 3 rolls, get 1 free, plus a complimentary drink for social media sharing. I ordered a variety of maki rolls including spicy salmon, salmon, spicy tuna, unagi, and spicy scallop. While the rolls were generously packed and seasoned, I must caution against the salmon options. Regrettably, they emitted a strange odor and were quite inedible. However, the unagi and spicy scallop rolls were OK in quality, and I found them quite enjoyable. Despite my disappointment with the salmon rolls, I'm hopeful that this issue will only be during their soft opening phase, possibly due to ingredient testing. However, I do urge caution until this concern is addressed, as consuming spoiled seafood can pose health risks. On a positive note, the service at Maki Momo was great. The staff, particularly the lady working during my visit, was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Additionally, Maki Momo offers a variety of other dishes such as onigiri and bento boxes. However, due to limited seating, I wouldn't recommend planning a full meal here. Overall, my experience at Maki Momo's soft opening was mixed. While the food left much to be desired, the attentive service and potential for improvement give me some hope for the future. Nevertheless, I'll likely hold off on returning until the issue with the salmon rolls is addressed.
