MADO - Shops at Don Mills

Our group of four had an unforgettable dining experience at Mado. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with thoughtful attention to detail in the decor. Meral and her team were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The food was outstanding—we tried the Breakfast for One, Donairs, and the Sizzling Fajitas Combo. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. What made it even more special was the stylish setting—we dined in a chic urban igloo overlooking the square. It’s evident that the team takes great pride in their work. We’re already looking forward to returning soon—and many more times after that!

Very overpriced and lacking service. The 8 dollar apple tea we got taste like water. Our wrap platter came without fries, we had to ask for it for the kitchen to cook it. Portion also felt pretty small for the price you pay. When we sat down, staff did not offer us menus (left on another table next to us) or water, we had to ask for water and grab the menu ourselves.

We’re so happy to have found this authentic Turkish restaurant! Everything was fantastic – the food, atmosphere, and service! Every dish was absolutely incredible, and the desserts were exceptional. The pistachio baklava with Dondurma (Turkish mastic ice cream) paired with Turkish coffee was heavenly, bringing back memories of our trips to Turkey a few years ago. The cherry on top was the amazing and friendly service from Meral (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) We will definitely be coming back soon and many times more! 👏👍

Came to Shops on Don Mills to run an errand and decided to grab late lunch. Mado replaced Aroma it seems. Cute Turkish cafe/restaurant with food and dessert as well as coffee. We ordered two pizza and a dessert and must say the pizza crust isn’t my thing but the topping was yummy! It’s personalize size so it’s good to eat for one or to share. We actually only ate half so we could try dessert! I also got a pistachio Turkish coffee at the beginning and I must say it’s definitely not the typical coffee taste. I think I discover a love for coffee! Service isn’t the fastest and the ambiance is quite chill and relax. The staff serving us was super friendly and nice.

Food was okay but service is poor. Stale bread and coffee was cold. I asked twice for milk, they did not bring bread with omelets we had to ask them for bread. Eggstatic is much better option for Turkish breakfast.

We were a group of four dining for breakfast, and we were served only three small pieces of bread. When we requested an additional piece, we were told that we needed to finish the three pieces first. Despite explaining that there were four of us and only three pieces of bread, the staff member walked away and did not bring any extra bread until the original three pieces were consumed. When we raised a complaint, the staff informed us that this was the policy set by the manager. As a restaurant owner, particularly in a prime location such as the main corner of a shopping center, your reputation and quality of service are paramount. It was quite frustrating for all of us to encounter such a policy, especially considering that we were spending over $100. Furthermore, the omelettes we received appeared to have been pre-cooked rather than freshly prepared, which added to our disappointment.

Calm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was delish. Servers seem to be new as they were not able to answer all the questions, especially with the nut allergy in our group. We bought some baklava home and they were really good. Def recommend the pistachio one.

I always go here for Desserts! You can see the beautiful environment in the photos I have included on the review. I love the chicken doner wrap, Tres leches cake, the chocolate soufflé, the chicken pizza, the breakfast for two, and their lattes! Maryl is an absolute sweetheart, she always checks up on every customer to ensure food is satisfactory. Love my visits here every time! ♥️
