Luna Ristorante

I recently dined at Luna Ristorante in Newmarket, and it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the cozy and elegant atmosphere made it feel like a special night out. We started with some appetizers, and the bruschetta was fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I had the pasta, and it was amazing. The pizza was also top-notch, with a thin, crispy crust and a ton of mushrooms. The wine selection was great, and they had some nice options to pair with the meal. Overall, Luna Ristorante was delicious Italian food in a lovely setting.

We had such a lovely dinner here! Came with a few friends and we really appreciated the warm Christmas decor, it made the atmosphere feel so special. The holiday cocktail menu was recommended to us and delicious! The food was great as well. Special thank you to Pravin and Sharan who were both so kind and attentive to us. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and hope to be back soon :)

We had a wonderful dinner party at Luna's last night. We were celebrating my sons birthday and everything was amazing. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was next level and all our party enjoyed their meals. The Bruschetta was so good it lasted seconds. The Grilled Calamari had a perfect char. We will definitely be back very soon.

I recently dined at Luna Ristorante, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The new management under Pravin and Sharan truly brings a fresh, welcoming energy to the restaurant. They were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the menu with ease and offering helpful suggestions. It was a pleasure chatting with them, and I’m so glad to see the restaurant in such capable hands with this next generation! The food was fantastic—full of authentic, bold flavours that left a lasting impression. Our favourites were the Fritto Misto, Bruschetta, and the Seafood Linguini, all perfectly paired with a great wine selection. The whole family was delighted, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

My husband and I dined at Luna this evening. The food, service, staff and ambiance were amazing! We enjoyed the meal and service, we also left no sauce in our plates from the ravioli, the seafood pasta, and as for the bruschetta 👌😋

Great little gem in Newmarket. The restaurant has amazing food, the staff is great, Kassandra was very helpful and friendly. Mel was very friendly from the time I called for a reservation. Saturday night the restaurant was completely full. We sat at the bar and were treated very well. We had pizza, calamari misto, ceaser salad, lamb chops, seafood línguini and nice dessert. The tiramisu and pistachio cheese cake were a great compliment to a perfect meal. We will definitely be back soon with the entire family.

Found this hidden gem in Newmarket!♦️✨️ A surprise birthday dinner brought me to this unassuming facade that belies the bustling environment within. All tables were filled, and we waited a short time for a table turnover. I'm not sure if they were down a wait staff. However, two ladies attended to our orders, along with another who may have been the manager/hostess. (??) Although they were busy, we felt taken care of. We started with the Grilled Calamari appetizer, the Penne Vodka, and two specials; the Duck and the Salmon Rigatoni, with capers. Everything was delicious!!😋😋 As quoted by my daughter, "The Duck was mind-blowingly amazing, I felt like Remmie from Ratatouille with fireworks going off behind my eyes!" 👀😍😋🔥🎉 The meal was capped off with desserts, Raspberry Sorbet, and Tartufo Royale. The night ended with someone else paying the bill, so I don't know how much was spent per person. 😉😂 We will definitely be back to try other options on the menu.

Update: Dec 2024 3/5 First time back since new owners have taken over and sad to say I’m dropping my rating from a 4 to a 3… Although the food itself was still very good, there were several things throughout the evening that caused me to drop my rating: 1) Upon being seated with my gf and while waiting for our third guest to arrive, we were completely ignored for 12 mins. There was no water brought to our table and no one asked if we wanted a drink while we wait for our guest to arrive 2) Ordered the bruschetta and calamari appetizers - 2pc Bruschetta was brought out first and calamari trailed 15 mins later (I think they actually may have forgotten because we had to ask where the calamari was). So my friend who was just having the calamari had to sit and watch us eat the bruschetta since both appys didn’t come out at the same time 3) There was a hair in the bruschetta. Although the server replaced the bruschetta and took it off the bill (thank you, this is what restaurants should all do) - it was still an unpleasant experience. 4) Our meals took over an hour (from the point of ordering) to come out. I know there was a party taking place in the back room, but this is still an unacceptable period of time to be waiting for your meal 5) Tipping options are as follows: 18%, 20%, 25% - I’m sorry but restaurants that proactively set their moneris machines to start at 18% just leaves a bad taste in my mouth 6) When paying, our server stood directly behind us, which felt intimidating and pressuring to select at least the 18% option. TBH I had wanted to select “other” and type 15% but felt embarrassed given I had a shadow lurking directly behind me, likely watching what I was entering. 7) Lastly, (and not to be rude), but now that Luna is Indian-owned, the authenticity and feel of that small, homey, italian restaurant has completely dissipated. - - - - Original post: Oct 2023 4/5 I've always wanted to try this Italian restaurant since it opened, and I was NOT disappointed! 🍕🍝 I came here with my two girlfriends for dinner on a Wed eve and was surprised by how busy it was for a week night! Despite being busy we were seated right away and had waters brought to us however when we ordered a bottle of wine for the table it took about 20m to come. When we ordered our food as well it unfortunately took well over an hour, which when you're starving, is no joy to wait. When the food did arrive however, we were absolutely delighted by the taste and quality 😋 👌 Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted spectacular. The owner came to our table several times to check-in and chat and to make sure everything was okay, which was a nice personal touch. She even brought us over some in-house spicy oil for our pizza crust 🍕🌶🔥 The inside of this restaurant isarger than it appears on the outside and the interior has a modern, classy feel despite being in a dingy plaza 😜 If it wasn't for the extremely long wait times for our food and drinks, Luna Ristorante would have received 5/5 stars. With that being said, I'm looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu, with hopefully quicker service 😊
