Such a great vibe and delicious bagels! I had a gluten free bagel with vegan cream cheese & fresh dill - so yummy, and I’m always grateful when places have an option that works for my dietary needs.

I just finished eating most of what I picked up and had to run to post this review. Embarrassed by how long it took me to visit your store!!!! I wish I came much sooner!! My OG bagel was absolutely phenomenal. The lox-- I regret not buying more for home today!! The egg salad is yummy. The hot smoked trout salad-- are you kidding me???? It is one of the most delicious things I've eaten! It is SO very good. I will most definitely be returning very soon. Well done team. Your food is amazing!

Delicious salmon, delectable cream cheese, lots of options for the fixins, and the choice of a Montreal-style bagel all make it my favourite such place in Toronto. Do go and check it out, and don't sleep on the many other baked treats on offer! The commitment to quality really shows.

Hidden gem alert! This is, without a doubt, the best bagel with lox and cream cheese you will get in Toronto! This fish smokehouse makes the best smoked salmon around. While you can order fish, fillings, or toppings to go/ for catering, I also highly recommend ordering a fresh bagel in-house. They are hearty, satisfying, and above all, absolutely delicious. If you have dietary restrictions like me (gluten free and dairy free), then you’re in luck! There are flourless bagels available, and cashew-based schmear. There are also vegan and vegetarian options for sandwiches, as well as alternative fillings (tuna, egg, etc.), but the smoked salmon really is standout. The hours are frustrating as a customer who often works on the weekend, but I’m willing to work around them when I’m available for the excellent sandwiches! Definitely go!!!

Lox and Schmear is a small-batch fish smokehouse. Their lox (smoked salmon) is hand-sliced, never frozen, and smoked in-house. I recently came to this neighbourhood gem and tried their veggie bagel, and was surprised by the size. The quality was good, and the veggies were fresh. The menu offers several sandwich options and specials that are served on Montreal-style bagels (sourced from St. Urbain bagels), and gluten-free bagels are available. There is also merchandise you can buy. No wait on a weekend morning. Seating options inside and outside. Service was quick. Washroom inside. Only open Friday to Sunday. Catering available. Street parking available.

I had a vegan bagel sandwich at this spot. My first one ever and it was so yummy. I’ve been sad since coming home to texas. Bagels here are so dense and chewy. I miss y’all😭

Stopped by Lox and Schmear for breakfast and this place seemed just perfect. The bagels are from St. Urbain in MTL which is a classic MTL style bagel. The bagels were good - soft and a little bit of chew. The lox here is special. I really enjoyed it - perfectly smoked, soft and not too salty! The fish is sliced on the thicker side, which is great for this sandwich. The cream cheese and dill combines for a perfect bagel sandwich. The gf had the Lev's bagel which she loved. The addition of dill chips and hot jalapenos raises the bar for the sandwich even further. Excellent combination here but it not be the best if you don't like a spicy sandwich for breakfast. Overall a great place for lunch! A little bit on the pricey side considering how small the sandwich is but the quality of ingredients are evident. The next visit i plan to just buy the lox, which comes in the different seasonings, bagels from one of the many bagel bakeries in the neighborhood and then make the sandwiches at home. L+S does have drip coffee but doesn't offer any espresso drinks which is not a big deal. The staff are kind and helpful. Overall an excellent neighborhood spot for quality lox and Schmear!
