A friend of mine chose Los Mayas as a middle point as I'm living in Brampton and she's living in Caledonia. To me, as mexican is very disappointed that other Latin people have lost the warmth touch in service. My friend and I were talking for more than an hour, and suddenly the waitress gave us the bill. And I don't understand why, because the restaurant was empty. I understand the sitting time when the place is crowded, but yesterday wasn't the case. The place is affordable, with a cute decoration. And the meals were nice.

Overall 2/5 stars, I saw great things about this place but it was all hyped up. Our table ordered a good portion of food. We had about 3 different servers, one of them being new in training. We were a table of 5 adults and 1 kid under 3 years old and was charged for 18% gratuity… wasn’t too happy with the food. The steak tacos were over cooked and dry. The plain birria was very bland, Ordered 2 quesabirria that was prob my the only good taco dish we had, the fish tacos were missing something it was also bland. The steak plate with rice was very dry not enjoyable and was missing the tortillas like on the google photos. We ordered 2 guacamole dips and a cheese dip and came with no chips... We had to ask and we were told that it was extra for the chips.. even though in the photo on google have the guacamole and chips. We ordered the chicken nuggets and fries for the little kid and the nuggets were over cooked and dry. prices were a bit higher for low quality food. the price we paid wasn’t worth the food to be honest. I had better authentic Mexican food. Presentation looks nice, but was missing flavour

Will update this review when I eventually try the food options here but my partner and I had a late night craving for churros, and as Los Mayas was the closest option to us, we decided to walk over and grab some. The restaurant is quite large, it looked busy as well and that’s always a good sign. The staff are incredibly kind and ensured the food was fresh and ready in a timely manner, the churros were very good!

Incredible food, as close to Latin American food as you can get. Lovely waitstaff. Friendly and very sweet. No liquor licence yet but we hardly noticed with the Pinha drink and the Tamarindo drinks …..yum 😋 Definitely will return soon

Best Mexican food in the city. I come here at least once a week. The prices are very good for the amount of food that you get. The owners are also very kind. The Pozole soup has lots of meat and is flavourful as well as the Chimichanga. The Molcajete is the best which comes with lots of meat, shrimp and tortillas on the side. It’s ,without a doubt, a good representation of Latin American cuisine in Hamilton.

This place is brand new and so amazing. The staff was so thoughtful and sweet. The decor is amazing - it honestly feels like you’re in Mexico. The music, drinks & ambiance are all amazing and on top of that the food was really good. The birria, fish and shrimp tacos were fantastic and so was the flan. The churros were not my fav but other than that perfect.

Hamilton needed an authentic Mexican restaurant for a long time and Los Mayas has delivered! Amazing food, friendly service along with modest prices will have me going back.

I recently went to Los Mayas Mexican Restaurant after being recommended on the “Hamilton Restaurants” Facebook group. I requested fellow group members for recommendations on authentic Mexican food, and this place was highly recommended. However, from past experiences, I have learned not to have high expectations. But Los Mayas proved me wrong. The staff were friendly, the aesthetics were amazing, the food was great, and it’s very reasonably priced. I ordered the Chilaquiles, and it was my first time trying it. It was amazing! I am so grateful to have them in the neighborhood and can’t wait to be back soon. Special shoutout to the staff for being so sweet and friendly!
