I ordered a curry duck with extra protein and I got only skins and duck bones not much meat. I also ordered rice and beans and it was really bad. I tried Lena’s in Whiby and the food was so good by far.

The food used to be better. I keep finding hair in my food. Once, I understand but more than that is ridiculous. You're charging people and there is hair in the food. Do the chef's even wear hair nets. Disgusting. Hygiene needs to be #1 when having a restaurant. I guess it's at the bottom of the list for Lena's.

Maybe i have been out of the caribbean too long. My bodi had more seasoning than bodi and it was wet with gravy (water). I did not like the same seasoning in both spinach and bodi. Bodi needs to be cooked dry to avoid tasting like boiled string beans. Just my opinion. Did not like much. The Baigan was worse. Who puts citrus in baigan choka? The lemony flavour was so strong it was not edible. I tried adding sugar to cut the lemon flavour, it helped but not much. The spinach was okay. I guess maybe the coconut milk cut the flavour and pepper out. But it is still in the good range. The daal puri and paratha were excellent. Better than most places. They deserve respect for that. The sada roti looked like it came out of a machine made for naan. One side was thick and the other was thin. And it tasted like it came out of a machine. That kind of raw taste that the roti was not seared on the fire. 1 star each for daalpuri and paratha. Yeah.

We had the Conch with Dhalpuri and the Goat on Rice. There are a few issues in terms of the taste. The taste was very strong and overwhelming that you cannot taste the conch at all. The presentation is super messy and the Dhalpuri could not hold itself together. The goat on rice was alright but too much rice. For close to $20 on regular size, this is not worth If you do decide to come here, just get the chicken for the best value. We also got some appetizers. The shrimp gourmet dish was great but the jerk chicken meat pie was average. Both are not worth the price which was around $6. I would rather substitute the meat pie with some cheap samosas

Welcoming warm service and delicious authentic doubles. Finally a good spot in North York without having to go to scarborough! The Curry chicken and Channa is absolutely delicious with the perfect balance of spice and heat. It's a delicious savory yummy mess 😋

I would not return! I ordered 1 veggie platter and 2 veggie roti but was given 3 platters. When I asked how many items in a platter I was told 3 but later saw the menu said 3/4. The cost was $65, including 2 small drinks. Very expensive, but only to realize it was because we were charged for 3 platters. I was very confused when I opened the containers because there are 3 separate compartments but the person serving the food put 2 of the same items in the companlrtments to fill it up, (see photo) If I was allowed 4 items then why not tell me so when I asked. The spinach was watery. Taste wasn't terrible but it affected my stomach almost immediately. Over cooked and the Mango was not nice! It was tough, making me think it was preserved Mango from a pack. The Chana and potato was the best part of the veggies. (Not pictured) The roti skin was very thin. The lady at the counter was very nice but whatever is happening in the back is very disappointing. Snacks are also very expensive. $4.50 for 1 little pack of Kurma. I am a regular customer at Monas Roti and made a mistake by trusting this place with my favorite meal. Never again!! The quality was franchise...comparable to Sunrise. No good!!

I have ordered from this location on multiple occasions and they always treat me nice. Ordered goat and vegetarian paratha roti specials for two people. Will always recommend because you don’t get good trini food everywhere. Also ordered 40 doubles, aloo pie and pholourie - the young lady over the phone said they were short staffed and I appreciated the effort. Took some time but they were fresh and I was satisfied.

The first picture is of chicken doubles (opened), the second is of goat doubles (opened), and the third picture is of chicken doubles (closed --> how it was when I opened the wrapping). I asked for medium spicy but I didn't taste any spice, it was on the sweeter side (I'm assuming this was due to the tamarind chutney overpowering the taste). However, I was given a spicy sauce in a small plastic container and that was extremely spicy. All in all, I think it was good but it could be more flavorful. Also, I would like the meat to be shredded and not in big pieces. The customer service is good. They're friendly people.
