The view from the Lavelle is stunning and they have good food, but kind of small portions. Unfortunately, the service is slow. I needed to order multiple times a drink and it took too long. It was a busy weekend but still for the high standard, I expected more.

Lavelle restaurant is a must-visit place in downtown! The stunning CN Tower view made our evening unforgettable. The DJ set the perfect vibe with great music all night. We had AAA steak, which was cooked to perfection—so tender and flavorful. The cocktails were incredible, especially the blue one—it tasted amazing! The staff were also super kind and attentive. Highly recommend for great food, drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere!

Edit: 12-27-2024 We were invited to come back and try the new menu. We chose a Friday at 7pm to compare both experiences. I can say the new menu and 2nd time around was much better! They were well staffed this time around with Akash also present, thus the increase to 5 stars for service. I'd recommend ordering the Waygu Gyoza, spicy salmon california roll, Ribeye with the Asparagus side, the spicy margarita, pecan pie, and carrot cake. All of these items do not lack in flavour! The gyoza on their own were savoury and unctuous. They're paired with a sauce that helps cut through the fat of the Wagyu. See my notes below for more on the sushi. We ordered a medium cook on the ribeye, which was executed perfectly. It comes with crunchy salt granules, a jus, and a butter sauce. All delicious. The Asparagus side is dressed with lemon, which is nice paired with the steak. The spicy margarita is indeed spicy. It packs a salty, sour punch that my partner loves! You can't go wrong with pecan pie or carrot cake if you have a sweet tooth. My partner normally doesn't like pecan pie (he's not a sweets guy), but he polished off the pie, no problem. We also ordered the hamachi crudo, and mushroom side dish for the steak. The hamachi was a touch fishy when we ate it one it's own. Eating the fish with all the accoutrememts balanced out the fishy taste. I personally like a more vinegar forward crudo, which this is not. The mushroom side packed a lot of flavour! They were well cooked and had savoury Asian flavours. I just thought it overpowered the steak. We didn't order a carb to go with the steak, so I'd imagine that would help balance out the meal. They had bottomless wine during our 2nd visit, which was a very nice touch. It was indeed bottomless. For whites, they offered a Voigner and a Reisling/Gewurztraminer blend. I didn't ask about the options for reds but did try the Voigner and Pinot Noir. Both are excellent. *********************************** We came here for a Friday dinner at 7pm. There was no bouncer, and we were able to walk right in. You have to walk down 2 flights of stairs to get to the elevator door that will take you up to the venue. The greeter was pleasant and brought us to our table promptly. Akash was our server for the evening. He was attentive and friendly. The venue has an unobstructed view of the CN tower and financial district, which is great for Instagram photos. We were seated at a 2-person table initially, but once a more premium booth was available, Akash offered to move us. I greatly appreciate this service! The music prior to 9pm is very romantic (Michael Bublé and jazz). The DJ played remixes of R&B to start their set. The washrooms were small with barely any space to turn around. They were clean while we were dining in but could see how they could get messy as the night went on. You can see what we ordered in the receipt photo. Overall, the cocktails leaned sweet except the Mojito, which was tart. I liked the Mojito the best as it was served in a high ball glass and wasn't too sweet. The other cocktails didn't fill the glass, which was disappointing. The other 3 cocktails ordered were 80% full. The food was edible and had interesting fusion flavours. The sushi was surprisingly good. It's fusion style sushi which will please a lot of people. We liked that the ratio of rice to filling was balanced. Most fusion restaurants use too much rice for maki rolls like this. The mushroom Alfredo pasta will please a lot of American palates. We could tell the guacamole wasn't made to order. The jerk chicken tacos were also surprising. The chicken was tender and had essence of jerk. Good to please the North American palate but not actual Jerk. We stayed 2.5 hours for the dinner and noticed as more people came in, the service slowed down significantly. Upon exiting the elevator to leave the establishment, there was a crowd of people clamoring to get in. The bouncers had set up for the night. Exiting is quite difficult as you have to push through the crowd to leave. *********** TLDR: eat here

Great ambience with great options of curated drinks and food items. Unfortunately the deck was closed and we couldn’t get a view of CN Tower but non the-less it was worth the visit. David took good care of us.

Lavelle offers an extraordinary rooftop experience that combines stunning views with a vibrant atmosphere. Nestled atop the city, the panoramic skyline is a breathtaking backdrop, especially at sunset. The cocktail menu is creative and thoughtfully crafted, featuring a range of innovative drinks that cater to all tastes. I highly recommend the signature blue lagoon; it’s refreshingly unique and perfectly balanced. The ambiance is lively yet relaxed, making it an ideal spot for both a casual night out or a special celebration. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. With its combination of fantastic drinks, great music, and a view that can’t be beat, it is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a night.

i of course LOVED the location and the atmosphere, the DJ was great and added to the whole experience. it’s got an amazing view and i would totally come back 😁 our server checked on us frequently but as it started to get busier we saw less of them and it was therefore difficult to get our bill. however, that wasn’t a big deal at all, the experience was still amazing

a beautiful place to enjoy, I really have to say that they SHOULD have someone more friendly at the entrance reception, my complaint: the girl at the door which is attached in the photo, is super rude with little patience, she had a blister opened with pills because I am allergic and she only wanted me to give her my medical prescription something that I did not imagine I should have in my pocket, the worst thing was that to check my purse she put her hands inside my bag something that I saw totally out of place and I told her that she should not do it, that I should take out what I had inside and she should look and touch the outside. On the contrary to this my server was SANTIAGO a super loving young guy who turned around the situation I lived before entering this beautiful place. Which did not matter with my friends to leave having made the reservation in advance. Yes I recommend the place and that other users if they live the same with the person at the entrance that they expose it so that their owners know and review this. Good food, music and above all nice atmosphere. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the service of the girl at the door. Otherwise it would be perfect.

Lavelle may be past it's prime but it's well established as one of the go-to rooftop spots in Toronto. Never tried the food here as it doesn't seem like a reputed feature here. The main appeal is no doubt the rooftop setting itself and the spectacular job they do at using it. The service here is disappointing though. I made a reservation for a table with some friends. When we arrived, we were initially being ushered to wait in line which would have caused us to lose our table. I had to negotiate with the bouncers to have our reservation honored so we could skip the first line. However there was another line for the elevator, and then another wait upstairs with the clerk while they scrambled to prepare our table. We ended up with a table towards the outskirts where the view wasn't the best. There was some tech event going on that really impacted the makeup of the crowd & the overall way the night played out. They had some unused booths. Even though we got a bottle, they did not allow us to move in to one of them because it was a $3K+ min spend. After we got our bottle, we pretty much never saw our server again after she got her fat gratuity. It was a but difficult getting our chaser refills. Other than that, the music was pretty good and the vibe was immaculate. Would love to return for pool hours in the future.
