Place is very nice with great food and service. The portions are very very small so make sure you order extra. Personally I would skip the food items on the happy hour menu as it is a bit underwhelming. Besides the portion size, place was nice and great for a get together especially over the holidays.

Just heads up, ask for the prices for special meals as they are pricy. Got surprised when I received the bill. The waiter was cute and provided great service. The special of the day (lamb sous-vide) wasn't worth money ($140!!!). Pasta was good, small portion, starter (tomato sandwich), and side fries were excellent.

A dining experience at Lapinou is nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in King Street, this Michelin-recommended gem truly lived up to its reputation. From the moment my partner and I walked in on a late Wednesday night, the ambiance of Lapinou enveloped us in a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The restaurant's decor exudes a refined elegance, providing a private and relaxed setting that made our evening feel both special and serene. Our culinary journey began with the bluefin tuna, a masterful creation with charred accents and a refreshing olive and caper vinaigrette. The citrus and dill pairing brought a unique and invigorating freshness to the dish that was simply unforgettable. Next, we indulged in the spaghettoni, featuring lamb amatriciana. The dish was a harmonious blend of heat and depth, with the lamb's rich flavor beautifully complemented by a perfect balance of chili and pecorino. The highlight of our meal was the whole grilled sea bream, served on top of a pepperoncini salsa verde. The crisp skin was an absolute delight, providing a satisfying contrast to the tender, flavourful flesh beneath. The exceptional service truly elevated our experience. Our server was not only down-to-earth and caring but also knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. Each course was accompanied by a fresh set of dishes and cutlery, a thoughtful touch that made the meal feel even more refined and luxurious. The cocktail menu was another standout feature. The exotic blends were thoughtfully crafted, and we particularly enjoyed the “Forgotten Classics” section. The Hemingway Daiquiri, with its blend of Havana Club 70, maraschino, grapefruit, and lime, was a refreshing revelation, while the Paper Plane, made with bourbon and Aperol, offered a sophisticated twist. Lapinou’s attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the exquisite dishes to the thoughtfully curated cocktails and warm, attentive service. This restaurant is a culinary treasure in Toronto, promising an extraordinary dining experience with each visit. I truly have nothing more to say other than we wish our dishes were bottomless!!

Went for summerlicious. Appetizers and desserts were good. Was pretty disappointed in the main, didn’t love the flavour on it, was also small (only 2 small pieces). We ordered a side of fries with it and was disappointed about how small the side was. $10 for 15 fries? Ridiculous. The only saving grace was the appetizer and dessert. Service was alright. Food came fairly quickly.

Went for Summerlicious. Portions are ridiculously small. Like, really really small. Size of the main is like appetizer, so you get two appetizers + one dessert for $65. I feel that any Happy Hour in any nearby restaurants would be much better value for money. Service was really slow too, we waited forever for the dessert (it was just ice cream), to the point where it felt intentional so that we order more drinks.

Came here with a very large group so we had to get a set menu. The menu offered us 3 appetizers, 3 mains & 2 desserts. Our favourite was definitely the bread with strawberry jam and cheese, so mouthwatering. The fish was super tasty as well, however, the pasta was cold - not sure if that’s intentional. The service was very friendly and they arrived to make an effort to ensure we ordered drinks we’d be happy with. However, later in the evening it was a bit hard to get their attention. Would definitely come back as their patio looks beautiful and it would be nice to dine outdoors. Beautiful spot!

Came for the winterlicious menu, great restaurant atmosphere and unique dishes. Had the fried shrimp as appetizer, I found it fine but it didn't feel like upscale dining fare. Had a bite of the cheese on toast with truffle and found it very nice. Wellington had great rich flavour and excellent pastry. Beef was tender but not exceptionally so. Wish the dish came with a more substantial vegetable component. I enjoyed the strong banana flavour in the banana tarte. The banana mousse had an extremely smooth texture. The service was friendly, atmosphere of the restaurant was fine but wish the table was a bit bigger, with bags and jackets it felt a bit cramped.

Part of Michelin’s recommendations for Toronto, Lapinou offers a ‘globally-inspired’ French cuisine, and it’s a great experience. First, the space is cozy and elegant, whether on the 2 side alley patio or the interior. The wait staff are very kind and helpful with the menu. The cocktails are great and can’t complain with a happy hour til 8pm. The food here is really something special, usually a twist on a French favourite. I enjoyed the French onion tart, which is play on the ‘skin’ of the French onion soup. The duck is amazing, tho recommend an accompanying side as it’s just duck breast. The baby gem salad is fresh and delicious, though a small portion. Overall, everything had a well balanced flavour, kudos!
