First time trying Ethiopian food! And it was delicious! Great food and lovely service. Th injera was fluffy and soft. The curries were just wonderful. The Ethiopian coffee was certainly strong and for those who like strong coffee and a bit bitter. Will definitely visit again!!

Our first time trying Ethiopian food in Toronto. Everything was great. The server, Kebron, recommended her favourite dishes and we ordered those. Good portion sizes and food was delicious. We were too full to try it, but the coffee ceremony for 2 people looked very interesting. One thing to note is that they only take debit or cash as payment. Also, street parking was available right outside the restaurant.

Truly authentic experience, felt like I was transported to Ethiopia. Incense, fresh roasted coffee beans! Injera was soft and fluffy, vegetarian dish was so flavorful. Thank you so much! If there was one thing to improve it would be to increase the ventilation so you don't inhale all that smoke! Just worried about your health Lalibela staff.

We ordered the platter that has most of the popular items. The chicken was pretty tasty. Four of us ate all of items on this family platter except for the beef stew(?) which did not taste bad but had a very unusual flavor that did not agree with our palate. The staple which is like a pancake with honeycomb patterns. These can be refilled if the ones on the platter rans out. Some say it looks like the beef stomach. Ordered cakes for dessert, one baklava (4/10) & carrot cake (7/10). Date: 2024-AUG-29 dinner time.

Good food. Bit pricey but as a guy who never tried African food before, this was an experience I ordered chicken Tibs with injera. Costed me 25 plus tax First time eating injera, it felt weird. I kept thinking where’s the rice, not knowing that injera is the main dish for Ethiopians Not really used to the taste of it, even though I liked it. I dipped injera into the tibs, taste pretty good Environment wise, I like it. It’s a cool place I guess Good food, not used to the taste, but a wonderful experience nonetheless

I dined at Lalibela with my family for dinner, and I was excited for several reasons. It was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine, the restaurant had a high rating of 4.7, they served halal food, and they were open until midnight. The decor was classic, warm, and reminiscent of Lalibela town, and the staff was friendly while the toilets were immaculate. Initially, I was surprised to find the restaurant empty on a Friday night, but my main focus was on the food. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. We ordered the Majestic 4, spicy chicken, and a fish curry for the kids. None of the dishes seemed fresh, and they were barely reheated, except for the fish curry, which seemed to be made to order. Out of the almost 8 dishes on the platters for 4, none of them were to our liking. As a working professional, I am accustomed to reheated food, but it should at least be flavorful. At the heart of all is Injera, and sadly even that was not served fresh. If it weren't for the average price of around $25 for each dish and the 4.7 rating, I might have had a different expectation . However, after this experience, I have lost trust in Google ratings.

The atmosphere was so amazing it actually transported you to Ethiopia. The smokey smells of roasted coffee and sage, and popcorn and incense was a great addition, it created a good rural atmosphere. Loved the vibe. Food was also good. I liked vegetarian options better.

My experience at Lalibela Ethiopian restaurant on Danforth East was truly exceptional. The lunch service was outstanding, and the food, especially the roasted fish Ethiopian style, was incredibly flavorful. The homemade salad and bread were delightful additions to the meal. Sewa, the owner, provided attentive and friendly service throughout our visit. The coffee ceremony was a unique and enjoyable experience, with the coffee beans being roasted right in front of us. Sitting by the door, in front of the coffee ceremony stage, added to the ambiance and made the experience even more memorable. I will definitely be returning to Lalibela Ethiopian restaurant for more of their delicious food and wonderful hospitality.
