LA REV
LA REV is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.
A small, but big minded business, La Rev considers itself a space for creativity, making music and art, inspiration (given or taken) and general well-being. Of course the space wouldn't be able to sustain itself without offering something to its guests, and what we offer is an authentic taste of comida casera (Mexican home-made meals). We strive to be honest and fair in pricing, we also do our best to provide food that is found locally and grown organically. Entering the cantina you will find our bright dining area adorned with reminders of Mexico and equipped with a stage and sound equipment. Also, we have big plans for our back room so stay tuned to find out whats coming!

Came around 6:30pm on a Friday night. Place was starting to get busy and the staff were great. All the food was delicious and so were the drinks. There was a band setting up when we were leaving and they sounded amazing. Will for sure come back for an evening!!

Had the opportunity to play at La Rev on Dec 7, 2024! Everything about the experience was excellent. Great venue/vibe, awesome staff and the food was fantastic. Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in Toronto. And killer Margaritas as well! Wonderful venue as well for live music. Friends and family who came out were all very impressed. Definitely pay them a visit. You will be impressed! Kevin (Sonic Curators)

After reading the reviews i was a little apprehensive about visiting but im glad i did. The enchiladas and the burrito we got were amazing - truly authentic. Our server was very attentive even though she had to take care of a bunch of tables by herself during a very busy Friday. Live music and dancing were just an additional plus!

Food was really good got the birria, asada and chipotle chicken tacos and the elote. Loved all of it the chicken wasn’t as good as the other two tacos but the flavour and seasoning was really good. Service was amazing the server checked up on us a few times asking if we needed anything (which I enjoy from servers) she brought us two different options of salsa without asking 👌🏼 service was amazing. Atmosphere the seating arrangements are out dated but we enjoyed the music (there’s a set up for a live band but we didn’t have that at our visit) the decorations on the walls were really nice loved them and the place is very clean.

Good place for drink and enjoy live music, but not to eat... at least you spent more than 40 minutes waiting for your plate, even it is the especial for the day. I have been there more than once and similar situation. Edit: after the renovation and other situations I went back to try another time... And it was perfect! The food was delicious, the service was incredible and there was live music. The new list of specials are the best. I don't complain!

Our experience was hit and miss. I’ll start with the good. The service was really good, the servers were all so nice and friendly. The place is clean. The corn and jalapeño poppers were really good and we would come back just for those. For mains we got enchiladas and fajitas. They weren’t bad but they weren’t our favourite either. The green sauce with fajitas was very small and everything was a little on the bland side. It didn’t feel worth the price point. The hot sauce helped. Enchiladas were also okay, not bad but not outstanding. The one strange thing was that the restaurant had a live band and the band came around while we were eating to tell us they had a surcharge (pay as you wish) but it was weird. I’ve never experienced this at any other restaurant with a live band. I’m also not a huge fan of live music so it was strange to pay for something you don’t particularly enjoy. Other than that, I would come back to try other items on the menu and can recommend the corn and jalapeño poppers, those were really good.

2nd night in a row ordering delivery (use skip , support canadian!!) . Last night I had pulled pork and tonight I have shrimp tacos and a pulled lamb. The tacos are full of delicious filling, not just a little sprinkle in the middle, the sauces are perfect. I got a tortilla soup as well that was very well wrapped and super delicious. I doubt I'll ever get tacos anywhere else

Hands down, most authentic Mexican I have had outside of Mexico. It was taco Tuesday today so that means $1 off taco prices. We got one of each taco on the menu, plus a big bowl of this fantastic soup. I cant remember the names of any of the foods. It was all good, just go and check this place out for yourself. The service is fast. The waitresses are prompt, and the kitchen prepares food faster than expected. Updated on 2018-12-18: it was music night tonight and there was a pianist and trumpet player on stage. Kitchen was fast a d food quality did not suffer. The single server was slower and needed to be prompted for menus and the bill. Understandable as she was the only one working everything from the bar, to taking orders, to serving food and busting tables.
