La Pho Vietnamese Restaurant 金粉家越南粉

When I first got the shrimp rolls in February 2024, they were amazing! The shrimp was large and fresh, and there was a good balance of the greens with other ingredients. (Picture 2). Unfortunately, when I went back today for the shrimp rolls, it was disappointingly smaller, and the shrimp wasn't as fresh (Picture 1). The balance of ingredients was also wayyyy off: one roll was stuffed with mostly basil and mint instead of a mixture with lettuce! When I tried to pick it up with my chopsticks, they also broke easily, and I eventually had to eat it deconstructed. Lastly, the lettuce was wilted and going bad (Picture 3&4). When I mentioned this to the cashier, though, he was very attentive and kind. He addressed my concerns and apologized, which I appreciate. Service from the cashiers and waiters have always been good here! On the other hand, the chef wasn't happy, but I would rather they know so things can be improved instead of serving bad greens to customers. I've had good pho from here in the past and would go back for it again. I also tried their vietnamese fish sauce chicken rice special, which had delicious and fragrant coconut rice. But I think I would stay away from the shrimp rolls in the future ...

I recently tried Vietnamese hot pot for the first time, and it was a terrific experience! The soup was flavorful and satisfying, and the service was exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend it

Not bad, portion is reasonable and prices are relative. The air condition isn’t strong, so with the hot pots running the shop gets a little warm. They have a special daily where certain dishes are charge at a reduced price, worth a try!

2024 July 3★ A cozy Vietnamese restaurant with seating for about 24 on ~7 tables. Currently promoting a daily special category: Tuesday Beef Pho Special $11.99 Wednesday Vermicelli Special $11.99 Thursday Rice Dish Special $11.99 Friday Rice Dish Special $11.99 This pricing applies to dishes that are $15.99 and under and represents a 25% discount. Not bad. Portions are a tad smaller. Flavors are decent. #101 Lemon grass pork center cut on the grill served with lettuce, steamed rice and house dressing. $11.99 Not bad. Pork chops were flavorful, though still lacked full flavors (more lemon grass and tumeric) and weren't tender enough. Salad was good. The shredded pork and onions were so so. #32 With medium cooked beef slices and crisp fat lined $15.99 Pho beef cuts were pretty good. Broth was ok. Specials are worth checking out. Ample parking.

We tried the Island Drifting Pho hot pot. The broth had a rich beef flavour and wasn’t too salty or greasy. The sauce that was served had a strong, but enjoyable garlic taste. We asked for the spicy paste to be served on the side instead of in the broth, the waiter was very kind and gave it to us. The spicy paste tasted like fragrant lemongrass and chilli peppers. It mixes very well with the garlicky dipping sauce. The portion sizes are very good and the pho hot pot is perfect for sharing with friends or family. There was a good variety of meats in the hotpot which were all fresh, and soup refills are available. The service was fast, the waiter was very helpful and had a positive attitude. The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant. Will definitely eat here again!

June 2024...... I came back here for lunch. The bun bo Hue ......... soup is tangy with a little bit of spicy. It is good for me as I don't like too spicy. The meat is raw meat and to my surprise it is good quality type of meat rather than those really low quality and tough one. Unfortunately, they don't offer pig feet. For the special beef pho, for the special beef pho. The beef was chewy and soft and had good flavor. When the raw beef finished cooking in the soup, gave it a good texture and made me want to ear more of it. The noodles were springy and chewy, which I really liked. The soup had good flavor and was tangy, but it was also really refreshing on a hot day. Feb 2024.....The food is amazing. The chili sauce makes everything taste like heaven. $40 for 2 persons in a hotpot style is a steal. Unfortunately, the fried oyster cake sold out. On the other hand, there is only 1 waitress and the restaurant is packed, so......... I hope they can have better service next time.

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time tonight. We noticed how busy it was right from the beginning and it smelled really good. The decorations and renovation looked nice. It was a small shop but gave off a warm and comfy vibe. We had ordered the Pho House special, Marinated Pork with Vermicelli and Mango Salad. The Mango salad was refreshing and sweet, they had used fresh, sweet and tender mangoes. The shrimp chips on top added a nice crunchy texture. The Pork vermicelli tasted very flavourful because the pork was marinated nicely. Sweet, salty and savoury. The Pho was good with a nice rich broth, meat was fresh and tender, and noodles were soft, and good size. The customer service was great as the servers tended to our needs and brought the food out quickly despite how busy it was. The cherry on top was when the owner, Richard Wang came by to ask how the food was and listened carefully to make sure everything was to our liking. Made us feel welcome and appreciated. Overall, I will definitely come back and try their other dishes. I heard their Hot pot, and spring rolls are a must try!! I recommend this to anyone craving a nice hot and warm pho on a cold Fall day like this 😊
