La Guanaquita

I have been to this place several times, with family members. A friend and I decided to go today, I had told her about the delicious food and she had never been there. I am extremely embarrassed to have recommended this place, and will not go there again nor will I recommend it, despite the food being good. The service can be rated less than 0. The restaurant was not full, there were about 2-3 other tables with customers yet the waiter was serving all of them before us (we had ordered first). The waiter's attitude was insulting and demeaning and a bit discriminatory, as if he was doing us a favour. The first thing we asked for was water, which never came until my friend stood up to ask for it as we were leaving the restaurant - unbelievable. We each ordered a soup. The first soup arrived about 20 minutes later and the second one, about 30 minutes after the first one, after twice getting up and asking the waiter what was taking so long. He simply responded it wasn't ready and it was being prepared. Couldn't he have said when we first ordered it that it wasn't available? When we complained about the service and that we would tell the owner, he simply said "do whatever you want", "you can tell my wife". Well, his wife should be aware of the awful and unacceptable service at her business. It would seem the waiter, who appears to be her husband, doesn't care. This is not the only Salvadorean place in town, and I guess it's time to put this one aside and not go back. My suggestion is...before anyone goes to this place, call and ask who will be serving. You don't want to have that attitude when you are out and about having a good time with a friend.

My boyfriend took me here for lunch randomly and it’s now one of our favourite restaurants in the GTA. The food was amazing, service was great and portions were huge.

Food was beyond expectations, great customer service. Love that it is family owned so they really make your food with the love of God. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area… I live in mississauga and I most definitely go out of my way to come down here to enjoy some authentic homemade food. I would make this my last meal request if I was on deathrow or if the world was ending. God bless this business and may God continue to provide for them to stay in business

First time trying this place and it was an overall great experience. The food was a 10/10. We tried a couple things on the menu, The yuca con chicharron, chicken tamale, chicken and cheese pupusas, and the mixed plate. The food was perfectly cooked and the meat was flavourful and tender. Not only was the food amazing but the hospitality and atmosphere made me feel like I was at home, the waiter helped us navigate the menu with ease explaining what everything was, and also gave us complimentary drinks of Horchata and fresco ensalada which were refreshing and light. On our way out we were looking at the sweet desserts that have, and the worker offered us one on the house. I would definitely be coming back here again and making sure my friends and family know about this place too.

This place was very authentic, from the music to the food to the over all atmosphere. Ordered the pupusas after seeing many reviews about how delicious they were and not one lie was told! I got the queso con pollo and that queso was to die for! Perfect amount of crisp to the pupusas and just the right amount of curtido to add on top. The yuca con chicharron was our appetizer which we didn’t need considering how big the pupusas were, however it was tasty nonetheless. Will definitely come back to this place again!

Corn tamales were delicious and rich. The texture was well-cooked. El Salvador 🇸🇻 pupusas were very well done and you can not argue the fact it's a specialty. Service was welcoming. Recommend to others.

The woman who run this place are amazing! The food is exceptional, the bread I feel is very dense but everything else Ive eaten here is hands down 10/10 and the waitress with the tattoos was handling the full restaurant on her own like a boss 🙌

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is delicious and the pupusas are the best in town. I have been a repeat customer for years and always have a great experience. The restaurant is family-oriented and the portions are generous. I highly recommend trying it out for a tasty meal.
