La Grotta On Main

Sitting at the restaurant enjoying my glass of wine as we speak while writing this review. Wow oh wow what an authentic experience. Sebastian you are incredible, come to find out he is the owner and chef! My sister and I are visiting from Cali and decided to try this hidden gem for lunch and we are so glad we did. 10/10!! Best part they also host private events or family functions. We will make sure to visit again when in town!

I'll start by saying we didn't have a horrible time here because the service was still good, but the food quality was quite disastrous. For an Italian restaurant that got pretty decent reviews, in an area where it's quite popular, we were very disappointed. My friends had been here before and said it was very good a few years ago but the quality had dropped significantly this time compared to last time. We came on a Sunday evening so it should be prime time for dinner service. The strawberry daiquiri was not blended at all with huge chunks of ice cubes. Compared to other pics from other reviews, it should be fully blended. We also got the "Seafood Platter for 4" for $69 but the portion was so small for how expensive it is. We got a pasta and added scallops for $12 extra and only got 3 medium/small sized scallops with it. That's $4 per teaspoon sized scallop! I got the carbonara, which is an Italian staple and supposed to be creamy but it was so overcooked that it was essentially scrabbled eggs with dry pasta. I told the waiter, who apologized profusely and got the kitchen to make it again. When the new dish came out, it was still scrabbled eggs but just less overcooked than previously. You can see in the pictures the original and the remake. Lastly, it was very unfortunate, but a fly that was buzzing around us flew into my friend's pasta and just died in the sauce :( They remade the dish for us and apologized. As for the ambiance, we were seated next to the speaker with Christmas music playing, but either something was wrong with the Internet connection or speaker connection, it was constantly cutting in and out. Not a huge deal but it was very noticable because we were so close to the speaker. They did comp our two pasta dishes, and was very sorry for the delay on the remakes. I don't know if they were just having an off day or if this is the usual quality but I probably won't be coming back again :( There's a better Italian restaurant right down the street

We celebrated our friends birthday at this restaurant. Sebastian is really nice to have a great talk with. He took care of all our orders and suggested the best dishes and customization. We ordered veg pizza, chicken marsala, chicken parmesan and some other items. Everything was so good specially pizza, I never had such delicious authentic vegetarian pizza in Toronto. I highly recommend this restaurant

Came here for their Tuesday night half price bottle of wine dinner and had a great evening of dining experience here. Sebastian was a very gracious and friendly host. We sat right next to the fire place, very cozy and intimate. The wine was good, the grilled calamari very yummy, so was the pasta and my wife loves the risotto. We loved the food, the ambiance and the service so much that we booked our next family gathering function here for later in the month right there and then!

Amazing food, Top service from our server Sebastian and wonderful atmosphere. Me and my girls went out for dinner for thanksgiving and Sebastian took care of us. He was very accommodating since we were all vegetarians and very kind and generous. The food was top quality, best home style Italian food in GTA. I would recommend this place to everyone!

I recently visited this charming restaurant with my boyfriend William, and we had an incredible experience! The service was exceptional; the staff was warm, funny, and even surprised us with a candle on our table. The atmosphere was inviting, filled with good vibes that made us feel right at home. The food was a highlight, with traditional flavors that felt comforting. We especially loved the unique pizza and the delicious lasagna—both were absolutely fantastic!

I had an amazing dinner at the La Grotta. The interiors were cozy and warmly lit. I order the mushroom risotto. It was pricey but the portion was quite generous. Complimentary bread and antipasto was also provided at the start of the meal which was very tasty. Overall amazing ambience and a lovely meal.

I can’t say enough good things about La Grotta ON Main! This place has been my go to for all my special occasions, and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely amazing every dish I’ve tried has been packed with flavor and made with such care, it’s always a treat for my taste buds! The restaurant itself is stunning. It has a beautiful vibe. I especially love the outdoor patio; it’s such a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal surrounded by greenery. Whether it’s a sunny day or a cozy evening, the patio really adds to the experience. And let’s talk about the staff, they're wonderful! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about making your visit enjoyable. The customer service is top notch, and they're always happy to help with recommendations or any special requests. Overall, La Grotta On Main is a place where I always feel celebrated and well taken care of. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, you’ve got to check this place out!
