Great sandwiches and daily features. We had the coconut shrimp and chorizo empanada for appetizer. The pressed cubano and the short rib sandwich was fantastic!

Very delicious guava short rib at a slightly higher price point. Slow service and not too lively at certain times. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch which wasn't too busy. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, which resulted in extremely slow service. I ordered the guava short rib ($26). The food was quite delicious. The meat was extremely tender, the fried plantains were on point, and the slaw complimented the beef very well. However, I just felt like the food wasn't made with any soul -- the kitchen was in plain view and the chefs seemed quite unenthused with their job. Overall, if these were improved, I'd give a grand 5 stars for the meal.

Such a lovely space, beautifully decorated with great music and service. The coffee here is no slouch, the cafe con leche was so smooth, definitely one of the best in town. Tried the guava short rib medianoche. Super juicy, lovely homemade bun. Very messy but it's definitely worth trying. Service was fast and efficient Also tried the yuca frita which was light but still fragrant and flavourful. Great side option

This is surprised to us that there is a Cuban restaurant at this location. The Plates are like a combo with Coleslaw, Tostones, Black bean rice with Short ribs or chicken. The sides are all excellent. We do not know what is Tostones. They are very crispy! The Avocado salad has a nice cut version Avocado! The Key Lime pie is a nice complement dessert with right level of sour lime taste. Both coffees, Cortadito and Cafe con Leche have little sweetness and very strong aroma of double espresso! All dishes are well made.

My partner and I have been dining at La Cubana since it first opened up on Roncessvales. Over the years it has maintained a consistent high level of quality in food and service, not to forget it’s always pleasant vibe. I think we have eaten everything that’s on the present menu and some that are no longer and always enjoyed their offerings. It is a friendly and open place for anyone who enjoys Cuban flavours. I highly recommend trying it out. You can see by the photos what we last dined on.

La Cubana is absolutely delicious and I prefer the one located on Roncesvalles than the Ossington one. We started with the corn frituras, which were tasty and the perfect amount to share between two people. For my main course, I ordered the vegetarian plate, which includes a delicious black bean patty, slaw, rice and beans, tostada, avocado, Cuban cheese, and tomato. It's the perfect plate with a bit of everything. My friend ordered the guava BBQ short rib and couldn't stop raving about how flavorful it was. After our meal, our server recommended the key lime pie, which we decided to try, and it was scrumptious—perfectly sweet and tart, ending our dinner on a high note. The vibes, service, and food are outstanding, making La Cubana a restaurant I keep coming back to.

I didn’t demand a refund but I’m honestly shocked that they didn’t offer it voluntarily after I told them how their grilled fish sandwich gave me mild food poisoning (I rushed to the toilet with a painful stomach 20 minutes after consuming it), it tasted a bit off, too fishy, but I thought it was just not seasoned enough or not perfectly fresh, plus I don’t like to complain so I ate it hoping it was ok. Sad, I really wanted to come back, the place is so cute. Maybe other menu items are better but frankly I’m scared now

We stopped by La Cubana after our stroll through High Park, had some really good Cubanos. Ordered it with a coke and some fries, the fries were fine although I personally prefer the skinned crispy kind. Service was friendly and atmosphere was relaxed. I also had a Cuban Coffee which was a first, was very sweet but worth repeating.
