La Bruschetta

Decided to try a new place with my mother tonight, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. This restaurant has survived 45 years, and we can tell why. Everything from the food to the service was perfect. This family run place is everything you want in a neighborhood italian restaurant. The sisters who serve you were funny and sweet, they made my mom and I feel right at home. Already planning for family dinners there! 10 out of 10

A hidden gem on St. Clair W! We went her to celebrate my friend’s 30th birthday and we all loved it. They started us off with complimentary bread, peppers and bruschetta, all of which were delicious. The hospitality was top notch, the spot felt homey, and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back. Grazie!

Excellent, delicious, high quality, true Italian food. Cozy atmosphere, you feel like you are right at home from the minute you step in. Fresh pastas and sauces, all homemade and so authentic. Specials are always unique and you'll have a hard time choosing. Fresh bread, butter, hot peppers and of course bruschetta come to the table at the start, an amazing bonus to an incredible meal experience. The best gnocchi in Toronto, fact. You will not regret a lovely evening here, fabulous meal and atmosphere.

We had a very intimate feeling anniversary dinner here tonight and had an absolutely lovely time. The experience was lovely — such friendly hospitality, service, and great food. I love when I see an Italian restaurant with a smaller menu since that shows a lot of care and knowledge of those items. We had the Caesar, burrata, gnocchi, and veal. The portions were more than generous enough to share (and take home), which was great since we both filled up a little too much on the (also delicious) bread and bruschetta. The namesake lived up to itself! Looking forward to returning already, and we both appreciate how special our little celebration felt.

My husband and I decided to check this place out for a Friday date night. It is the true definition of a hidden gem! They start you off with bread, peppers and bruschetta. All very good. Just the peppers are enough to have me go back. Everything we ate tasted home made, fresh, and well seasoned. The pasta was made in house, including the parpadelle and gnocchi. The service was not the typical superficially polite and “extra nice” experience. But, if you ask a question or need something the hospitality shines.

A disaster from start to finish. No drink orders taken for the first 20 minutes, very rude reaction to the fact that we booked through open table, we waited 35 minutes for our bill and the dinner was extremely disappointing. The bread basket had old food caked into the material and the bread itself was just a large bun sliced into four huge pieces and wasn't even warmed up. As you can see in the picture they gave packets of butter which really doesn't match the whole restaurant experience. The food was okay but the parmesan on the table was the dry kind. Not even close to an authentic Italian meal.

Delicious food with the best service, wholeheartedly recommend. Came here on a weekday evening and was fairly quiet. Service was immediate and polite, and definitely made it feel very homely. Ordered the recommended of the day, which was prefaced with a delicious bruschetta. Had a polenta appetizer, a rustic pasta dish pappardelle alla Genovese, and for dessert, a tartufo. Everything was absolutely delicious, and definitely wanting to come back and try more on menu!
