We had to leave because we felt discriminated! I went here with my mom earlier today (Dec. 28, 2024) and the place was fairly empty except for two tables. The waiter was taking orders and there was another worker interviewing. We were not acknowledged at all - no greeting or courtesy to even say “just one moment.” We waited there for 5 minutes being completely ignored before we decided to leave. Not a good first impression, especially since many Korean or Japanese restaurants prioritize a warm welcome. I’d understand if there was a rush or it was busy, but there were only two tables occupied! I would NOT recommend going here if you’re a person of colour that isn’t East Asian.

The dining room is pretty intimate, so I like that they had dividers between the tables beside each other. Had the bulgogi and it was fine. It’s good if you’re hungry, but can’t say that the place stands out to me as a destination for Korean food considering all the options in the city for that. The servers weren’t the most attentive, and when you do get their attention they seem impatient or bothered by it so that could use some improvement.

Stopped by Koko Share Bar at the owner’s request, which was a privilege! This hidden gem in the heart of Yorkville might be easy to miss since it’s an underground restaurant, but what lies inside is a delightful mix of Asian cuisine. The restaurant is long and narrow, which offers more intimate seating compared to group settings. Our server, Luna, was amazing—juggling our table, other patrons, and the owner’s requests during a busy rush with ease. Props to her! We had a selection of bibimbap, ranging from lobster to the staple choices of chicken, beef, and tofu. The hot stone bowls were the perfect centerpiece for all the bibimbaps. My personal favourite was the beef bibimbap, which offered a perfect balance of savoury beef, fresh vegetables, and that comforting taste of home from the rice. Overall, although Koko Share Bar is well-hidden, it’s a gem you might pass up if you’re not looking carefully. Recommended!

The sushi was really fresh and flavorful, and the ambiance was quiet and clean. Although the service wasn't exceptional, we found ourselves returning because the food was so delicious. 🍱

I expected that little touch more. Their sushi 🍣 are good but not first in my list and I expected more about their beefs. You can find our orders in attached photos. Their ice cream 🍨 is different, try it if you like susam

Yummy, nice mix of interesting rolls, a few that are unique. We liked the volcano roll and the crunch roll.

Small cozy basement Japanese and Korean inspired dishes, priced well for the area and well made fresh tasting food. Sushi rolls were made tidy and clean fresh tasting. The Korean dishes were actually well made to, definitely would try again! Actual restaurant seating is limited so plan ahead! I give them 8.5/10!

Yorkville I expect that little touch more. The sushi here wouldn’t be my first choice, definitely passable just not memorable. We found the sashimi too thick for our liking and the tempura too lightly battered. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food presentation was well done.
