Koganei Japanese Seafood

Best restaurant in the GTA. Definitely worth a visit! Koganei has amazing food and staff. Me and my family have been eating here for many years. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this amazing restaurant!

I found the menu to be really interesting (though quite large and a bit disorganized), it had some unique dishes not typically found at most sushi restaurants. Food taste and presentation were great, but portions are a bit on the small size for the price you pay. The service was attentive and friendly, but slightly inconsiderate. A waiter removed a dish from the table assuming it was done, but didn’t ask me first, and I still had some edible portion, it happened so fast I barely noticed in time and just let it go. But that felt a bit rude. Otherwise, interesting menu, good taste, and nostalgic decor.

I recently dined here for dinner during a week day. Uni sushi and geoduck sashimi were quite fresh and tasty. However, the sushi and sashimi platter and the fish roe fried rice was just ordinary so does the spicy stir-fried clams, which was highly recommended by the waiter, claiming it was a must-try. Unfortunately, as someone who grew up by the coast, I found this dish didn’t quite match my expectations in terms of flavor. On the positive side, the service was friendly and attentive, which made the dining experience pleasant. While some dishes were a hit and others a miss, I appreciate the effort and hospitality of the staff.

I've been going here for 15+ years.. and the food just gets better with time. Never disappointed in any of the items I order. They truly are in the top 10. I've recommended them to plenty of people and they all love it as much as I do

I went there on Monday with my girlfriend, the food wasn’t fresh. The scallop sashimi we order was defrosted fast so it looked a little cooked. The sea urchin is supposed to be orange but was more peach toned colour. Very disappointed for the Woodbridge roll, with: salmon, red snapper, avocados and mango; we paid $22 and there was only avocado and mango inside, the principal ingredients! Only good thing we ate was the spicy salmon cone.

Good food! The Frank roll was the perfect amount of spice and whatever the paper was they wrap it in is delicious! Also got the sweet heart roll was very good and the toric roll, salmon was a little over cooked and sauce didn’t have much flavour.

They have cucumber-flavored sushi,🍣which is very suitable for summer. The sashimi is also very fresh, and the oysters 🦪 don’t have any fishy smell, so delicious! It doesn't taste too strange with Tabasco sauce, it has a special taste and it's delicious, and the miso mushroom soup is also delicious! And they also have ice cream to eat, mango, green tea, black sesame... I really like their black sesame ice cream🥴The service staff is also very attentive and kind, it was a great experience (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎ )

I have experienced the best restaurant service here. They have a wide range of sushi, soups, seafood and much more, it’s literally feels like never ending. They also have bar, including their authentic Japanese drinks. The food tastes amazing. It’s a bit pricey but it comes with the best and quick service. I would definitely recommend this place.
