I got the Jerk Chicken here. Pretty nice! They spiced/seasoned the rice pretty well here, and the chicken was pretty tasty. They chop the chicken with the bones in it, which is pretty normal, but it does really in random bone pieces in the plate, which you just have to be careful about. Otherwise, I'm happy to try this place again!

This was the best jerk chicken I've had in Toronto. You can taste the charcoal flavors within the chicken. They have a drum in the back where they make it fresh. The rice and peas have island flavors in it. Hint of the coconut taste. I ordered a small jerk chicken with rice and peas, and it was plenty. I wish I had ordered a larger version. Will be going back again and again. The food reminded me of the taste I had when I visited Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Highly recommended spot.

The Best!! Crowfoot soup or the crowfoot dinner, you will definitely 💯 enjoy. I’ve also had the pleasure of enjoying the oxtail dinner. Wow! The Dragon Stout is sooo nice to wash down your meal. Absolutely amazing real Jamaican cuisine. The owner of this restaurant makes you want to come back daily! Bless the hands 🇯🇲 T&C

What a hidden jem. Looks like all the local Jamaicans know it. Ordered jerk chicken which came with rice/bean and coleslaw sides. Very flavourful as a jerk chicken should be.

Kitchen King is very close by to my go-to Jamaican jerk and oxtail food spot, but I figured I'd give it a try based on the great reviews. Note that there was no menu board in the shop when I went so I had no clue what I was about to pay for the food I was ordering. However, I knew what I wanted to try. I got both the Jerk Chicken and Oxtail meal. Off the bat I noticed that the Jerk Chicken meal had what looked/tasted like store bought BBQ sauce. My preference would be to go without this and have just and oxtail gravy. The smokiness of the jerk chicken comes through nicely. You can tell that it was cooked in a proper barrel smoking grill. (I think another review provided a photo of this barrel). While the grill and smokiness was just right, my preference for the flavour would be to have much more of the earthy flavours from the seasoning (allspice, garlic, onion, thyme, cumin....). The seasoning didn't really come through. It may have been due to the BBQ sauce that was put on top. The rice and pease for both dishes was stickier and fluffier than my preference. More like a white rice with kidney beans. The oxtail meal had good amount of meat and was prepared to the right tenderness. As with the jerk chicken I wish the oxtail had more depth of flavour from spices or a sauce with these flavours. Based on the other reviews I would say my experience and review comes down to my personal preference as the meals had certain good notes but just didn't have the earthy flavour profile I prefer from the seasonings used. If you like a smokey BBQ chicken this may be your spot Both large meals were about $20 each so it is on the pricier side for a jerk chicken meal. This is about what you would pay for an oxtail meal of similar size in Scarborough.

Truly enjoyed my visit at this restaurant( From the moment I walked in). The atmosphere inside instantly made me feel like I was at a local restaurant in Jamaica. Temperature inside the restaurant was HOT; perhaps from all the hot spices inside the kitchen lol; it gave me a nice tropical feeling like i was in JA. People were sitting around enjoying their meal. The female staff was kind and welcomed me with a smile and helped me pick one of their best items on the menu. I went with the curry goat on rice and coleslaw. IT WAS OUT OF THE WORLD. It was served hot and fresh. The goat was extremely tender and spice level was on point. I will definitely return and recommended this restaurant to others.

Had their curry goat with rice and peas - comes with coleslaw! (Asked for oxtail but they didn’t have any) No complaints with the meal, the flavour great. The goat was well seasoned with a nice spice. I could of done with more gravy (next time I’ll ask) & the rice and peas was good, nice coconut flavour and not overloaded w. peas. First time having their food and would come back for more. My bf ordered the jerk chicken. He really enjoyed it. Chicken was juicy and there was a nice spice to it. He usually has a dry jerk chicken- this one was a bit saucy and he was very satisfied.
