A Memorable Experience at Kissa, Blending Tradition and Modern Charm My recent visit to Kissa wasn’t just about incredible food and atmosphere—it was the deep sense of tradition, culture, and exceptional service that truly made the experience unforgettable. Kissa, inspired by the classic Japanese kissaten, beautifully merges the charm of traditional Japanese coffee houses with a modern, vibrant twist. For years, I had walked by Kissa, curious but never stepping inside. It was Links, the incredibly kind and welcoming doorman, (Link) who finally convinced me to come in. His warm personality and enthusiasm set the tone for what would become an extraordinary experience. From the very first moment, he made me feel like Kissa was a place I needed to explore. Once inside, Emma, the manager, elevated the experience even further. Her attentiveness, playful energy, and the genuine connection she fosters with each guest made it clear that Kissa is more than just a restaurant—it’s a reflection of the rich cultural history of Japan blended with modern Toronto vibes. Whether you’re savoring matcha or enjoying a handcrafted dish, the thoughtful care from the entire team, led by Emma, makes Kissa a standout. If you’re looking for a dining experience that blends Japanese tradition with a welcoming, modern touch, don’t wait like I did—step inside Kissa and experience it for yourself.

Restaurant Review: Kissa, Toronto For my birthday, my girlfriend took me to Kissa in Toronto. The restaurant's 80s/90s vibes and amazing atmosphere made it a memorable night. The live DJ played chill music, which added to the experience. The drinks were fantastic, and the food was incredible. The Wagyu steak and Wagyu burgers were both phenomenal. The sushi was unlike anything I've tasted before—simply amazing. While Kissa is on the expensive side, the delicious food and drinks make it worth it, especially for special occasions. The only downside was parking. It's on a busy street, so we parked in a nearby garage and took an Uber. Overall, Kissa provided an unforgettable dining experience, and I'd definitely go back for another special occasion.

This is one of the best cocktail bars I've been to!! The atmosphere and experience was really unique and unmatched to any other cocktail bars, it's a cross between a cocktail bar and lounge accompanied with great music and amazing food!! The aesthetics are beautiful with a darker setting, great for special occasions and date nights. The food menu is more like Japanese tapas style, great for sharing or for ordering individually. My favorite dishes were the shrimp tempura, the arugula salad and the corn, everything was soooo tasty and flavorful!! They also have a unique and large cocktail menu, the cocktails are more spirit-forward, great for people who like stronger drinks. We went on a Saturday night, gets a little busy but was a fun crowd. We all had so much fun and will definitely be back!! I highly highly recommend this place!!

Nice Girl's Night or even Date Night spot. If you want to listen to good music from the 80s-2000s while you eat or have some drinks, this is a great listening lounge. The DJ plays vinyl records so you know sound quality is 👌 Dining area is dark, but still illuminated by gorgeous light fixtures. Definitely an aesthetic place. Food is Japanese-inspired tapas style, so you can order a bunch of dishes to share or just order individually. My fave dish of the night was definitely the Buta Kushiyaki (Pork Belly), which was tender and full of flavour. No one I was with is a drinker, but their cocktail selection looks very appealing! We also didn't check out the club upstairs, but the stairwell looked pretty cool (Tron-like vibes).

the service and atmosphere are extremely top-notched for they have the most accomodating staffs from the reservation until the end of our stay. when it comes to their food, i will highly recommend their oysters with caviar. food prices are reasonable and its of quality. also, i am not a cheese fanatic but their yuzu cheesecake was superb and the cheese on the side was really great. Ohh, what else i can say?! they serve very good cocktails that exceeds my expectations. 💕

Wow! What an experience I must say, from the moment you walk in all the way to the end with dessert! A must experience in my opinion!! To start the cocktails were perfect, food was tapas style portions but packed with an insane amount of flavour and style! Also special thanks to Matt the Manger for accommodating a short notice for adding an extra person and Micheal the bartender a night to remember truly!!

This place is amazing. The staff is warm and kind, the food is top notch and the music is a vibe. Moreover, their house espresso martini is a must, so is the wagyu beef. Their dance floor has a nice atmosphere as well.

Had my birthday here this past weekend and had the best time. The staff were nothing but spectacular and welcoming the moment I entered. They were so attentive to my group and made sure we were happy. The music was amazing. If you love old school hip hop and rnb, the main floor is for you. My friends and I were vibing to our favourite jams throughout the night. Food was so tasty. We got a set group menu as we were a big group and there was plenty of food. My friends loved all the cocktails they ordered. I loved the espresso martini. Atmosphere is aesthetic and great for pictures. Where it be the washrooms, the upstairs staircase, the main bar, DJ booth, it is a great vibe and very well decorated. Definitely coming back and would highly recommend.
