KINTON RAMEN EXPRESS is a new restaurant in Toronto opened more than 6 months ago.

Founded by Kinka Family in 2024, KINTON RAMEN EXPRESS was where we set our sights on making the iconic KINTON RAMEN dishes more accessible. We took our high quality ingredients found in the original KINTON and perfected our menu for a new experience in dine-in/pickup. We know that everyone wants or would like to save their time as much time as possible, and KINTON RAMEN EXPRESS is here to help without sacrificing quality and offering dishes at a reduced price point than that of our regular KINTON RAMEN concept. Check out our FIRST location that helps bring this concept to life at 1 Richmond St W, Toronto, Ontario M5H 3W4.

Kinton Ramen – From Ramen Star to Franchise Flop We ordered Kinton Ramen for lunch via UberEats on Dec 16th, 2024, and honestly, I wish we hadn’t. This is a brand that once set the bar for Japanese ramen in Canada after opening in 2012. Now? They’ve fallen off the wagon, likely distracted by their franchising ambitions. There are literally dozens of them in Toronto alone with this express location being probably the worst. The result: a sad, soulless bowl of soup that barely deserved to be called ramen. The “Pork Shoyu Ramen” was a disaster. The broth tasted powder-based, overly salty, and utterly lifeless. I’m talking murky brown water with strange, unidentifiable ingredients bobbing around—fake seaweed, limp (fake) bamboo shoots, and two slivers of pork that looked like they were being punished. The scallions were the only thing that tasted remotely fresh, but even they couldn’t save the soup from itself. No one at lunch finished their ramen. Even those who ordered the udon noodle soup left half or more untouched. That says a lot. And my experience? Bloating, heartburn, and a lingering regret that no amount of antacids could fix. For a bowl of ramen, I can handle a little discomfort—if it’s worth it. But this wasn’t. Kinton, what gives? Quality control has clearly taken a nosedive. Your competition, Kibo Sushi House’s ramen doesn’t leave me wrecked, and guess what? It actually tastes excellent. Maybe revisit your roots, and get some quality control going on before you start losing all your customers who have actual taste buds.

A quick in and out ramen joint with minimal human contact. If you are looking to grab a quick but absolutely delicious lunch, I highly recommend! I got the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was rich but a little on the peppery side (which I am a fan of). The pork was slightly dry for one of my pieces but overall the dish was 5 stars. Next time I'd like to eat in as I think it would be best fresh. I did the takeout option this time around. Staff were super nice and the restaurant was clean and had good vibes.

The food at Kinton Ramen was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for authentic ramen. Can’t wait to come back!

Good restaurant to enjoy the taste of Ramen noodles. Veg spicy garlic Ramen with thick noodles and Veg goyza are recommended. The spicy ramen is really good - mouthwatering and enjoyable during winter. Veg goyza is delicious. Staff is good and welcoming. Cozy place to hangout within budget. As it says - A bowl full of happiness and enjoy - chew it, fork it, spoon it, slurp it.

This is a great place to try out ramen if it’s your first time having it. The staff is super kind and give good recommendations. I’m glad that they have good vegetarian options as well. Self-served kiosks are easy to use. I was not aware that ramen is not included protein yet but a staff there quickly helped me add it so that I didn’t miss protein in my bowl. The store are very clean and neat.

Talking about saving this planet from too much plastic (not surgery) my 'beef' about this place is everything is self-served and plastic on very hot meals! even dine in! I feel like I am eating in a clean food court! As well, it is $1 extra for 2 small pieces of seaweed.! It is so different from other locations that everything that is used to be part of the 'bowl' is no longer included, each piece is $$$ extra! Make sure you put your plastics away before you leave. That was my first and last place to visit
