KINKA IZAKAYA, a popular izakaya-style restaurant now most famous for its bustling atmosphere, was established in 2009 in downtown Toronto. When you walk through our doors, you will feel as though you're dining in Japan. KINKA IZAKAYA offers an authentic dining experience of popular Japanese eateries, and is a pioneer in introducing Toronto to the world of authentic izakaya fare and superior Japanese-style hospitality. Executive Chef Ippei Iwata brings forth a menu boasting a variety of traditional and modern specialties made for sharing. KINKA IZAKAYA guests will also enjoy a large beverage selection that supports the philosophy of an izakaya; pairing tapas-style dishes with a collection of premium Japanese sake, craft beers and cocktails.

The food and cocktails at Kinka were absolutely fantastic. Everything was incredibly delicate and unique. We stuck mostly to the sharable (and not the sushi rolls) but everything from the meat to the fish to the tofu felt fresh and very well prepared. You also get a free dessert for leaving a review! Even with that they deserve a 5 star.

Nothing but hits! The omakase menu was incredible and an amazing deal atm at $55 or $80 with wine and sake. Service was quick and friendly. Our group was satisfied with the entire dinner experience.

Amazing food! All of the dishes were so delicious, but the most amazing dishes we tried were the grilled octopus and the prawn tempura. The octopus was so soft and tender, and the prawn tempura was massive and delightful. Highly recommend trying an assortment of dishes. Will come again for sure!

Visited kinka with the family for a Sunday dinner. Quite busy for a Sunday night! The service was a little slow as it felt understaffed. Ordered a variety of dishes. The carbonara and the curry cheese bimbap were excellent. A variety of traditional sushi and aburi are also available. While they were excellent, thought the pricing was on the higher side. They also had some excellent bottles of sake.

I recently dined at KINKA and it was an exceptional experience! The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the Aburi sushi chef’s selection which was bursting with flavor. the staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed.

Went here for my 2nd wedding anniversary ❤️ The food and the service was so good! What we ordered: - Salmon Aburi pressed sushi - Aburi Chef’s selection - Chef’s selection sushi - Oyster kakimayo - Fish Kama At the end of the meal they prepared a special surprise for us too! Their Chocolate Terrine with a special message 🥰 I will definitely come back to try more dishes!

Everything we ordered was delicious. I loved the chefs assortment of 🍣. The sushi quality was very high and the cuts of fish tasted clean, fatty and out of this world. The shrimp tempura was big and it was fresh. I really liked the aioli. The cocktails were also really good (happy hour) especially the one with tequila in it. It’s definitely on the more expensive side since the cuts are more premium but it’s a nice place to celebrate an occasion.
