We were pleasantly surprised with our experience. Good quality sashimi and delicious torched sushi. I would also recommend the beef curry bibimbap, served in sizzling stone which gave the rice a great crunch. I would definitely come back again.

This Japanese restaurant is a must-try! The modern decor creates a chic and inviting atmosphere. Our waitress, Dee, was an absolute gem – friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better. But let's talk about the food and drinks! Their cocktail list is seriously impressive. I took a chance and ordered a random drink, and it was incredible! Highly recommend being adventurous and doing the same. You won't be disappointed! The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the beef curry cheese bibimbap was the perfect comfort dish. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Can't wait to go back!( Highly recommend assorted sushi, beef curry cheese bibimbap!!!!!! )

Located on the bottom floor of the 1 York building, this Kinka Izakaya is located near Harbourfront. With a simple yet appealing menu and quick staff, the atmosphere features a sleek and modern interior with delicious food. Great for a date night out to eat and go to Second City upstairs! During our visit, we sampled several dishes including Salmon Aburi sushi, a Salmon Roll, Assorted Tempura, Karubi Beef Short Ribs, and Beef Yaki Udon. The standout dish was the Assorted Tempura's daily fish special, Sea Bream tempura, which was light, fluffy, and subtly sweet. The other tempura offerings were well-seasoned, and the tempura batter was excellent. The Salmon Aburi Sushi was well-prepared and had a good balance between the fish and the temperature of the rice. However, the Salmon Roll was somewhat underwhelming, with the outer red salmon overshadowing the flavours of the snow crab and scallop inside. The Karubi Beef Short Ribs was tasty and well-seasoned, while the Beef Yaki Udon had the right texture for cooked udon, complemented by a mushroom mix and a flavorful beef dashi sauce. For beverages, we ordered the Passerine and Neko Damashi, both of which were presented beautifully and were tasty. Neko Damashi was well presented with a tiny neko bottle for the table. Service during the visit was exceptional, with the server being extremely attentive. We booked via OpenTable which ensured a smooth check-in and table assignment. Although the restaurant opens at 5 PM, it was nearly full by 6 PM. Additionally, the team at Kinka Izakaya acknowledged our anniversary celebration made through OpenTable by providing a complimentary anniversary plate. This plate featured a rich chocolate mousse, sesame ice cream, strawberry slices, whipped cream, and celebratory words in caramel, adding a lovely personal touch to the dining experience.

I couldn't believe how good the reviews were, but they were accurate. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. They were very welcoming, great service, beautiful little restaurant. Great place to go for gourmet sushi in Toronto!

Visiting Toronto for the first time and this is a MUST STOP!! We went and tried the Omakase Tasting Menu and it did not disappoint. Everything was really good, flavorful, and a good sample of everything the restaurant offers. Our waitress was also super cheerful and very nice. Overall experience is 5/5 and I would definitely come again!

Always like the vibe of the north york Kinka. First time trying this Harbour front location. They share some similar menus but this one has much quieter ambience, with a bit more high-end detailness in food quality, decent flavors and service. Love some dishes with nice combination of sauces and side dishes such as the beef ribs, fried egg plant with tofu, baked oyster, crispy mushroom cheese rice hot pot…all the shareables are tasty and good prices. This place has more sashimi and sushi choices though some of the combo are more pricy overall. But it is good to have fresh sashimi options to pair with the menu. So we still enjoyed and ordered a couple combo. Glad that our server is so nice and friendly. She offered us a complimentary cake at the end for my belated birthday!

We came here for a birthday celebration, I reserved for a large group through email, and paid a $88 deposit which they forgot to refund me afterwards (I had to remind them). We tried and assortment of the food, such as truffle Tokyo fries, baked oysters, salmon torched sushi, karaage, tempura, sashimi platter, and more. They gave us complimentary frozen grapes for dessert. The food is pretty good, but not outstanding. Our favourite was the udon carbonara! Servers were friendly. The atmosphere is pretty spacious with high ceilings and the tables are well spaced.
