Keung's 强記雞粥

I was craving for congee tonight, and decided to visit Keung's Restaurant 強記雞粥 at Peachtree Plaza. This place is known for their delicious congee and lots of signature Chinese dishes! We were greeted by the lady at the counter who gestured us to go in and pick our own seat. Our server then promptly brought us kettle of tea and the menus. He was very friendly, courteous, and has great presence! We ordered the minced beef congee, wonton soup, veggie noodles and a plate of Chinese broccoli to share. Everything was delicious, and cravings definitely satisfied. Our server later offered us complimentary desserts at the end of our meal - purple glutinous rice soup :) Thank you for taking such great care of your customers! I'll definitely be back again.

Keung's has been around for many years and was my mom's go-to Cantonese restaurants at the Midland/Finch location in the late 90s. We came for dinner, ordered bittermelon in salted egg yolk, free-range chicken (half), and black bean clams. I love that they kept with tradition and gave today's house soup. The food is affordable, tasty (not overly salty) like I remembered, and the portion was enough for 2 or more as we had leftovers.

Love their afternoon tea set menu, especially the deep fried tofu and the HK Style rice roll. The set meal comes with free iced red bean drink.

Afternnon tea athe whole week. Cash only 2:30 to 5/5:30 ❤️Beef rice noodle: the best I had so far. Bouncy noodles. They claimed the noodles are fresh daily, not using over night product. 🥹 Beef is not over soften (some place put too much softening agent that tastes not like beef anymore). Onion is 10% cooked, it so sweet and crunchy. Very good WOK-HEY. 👍Fry Stuffed Chili peppers. It's not spicy. But I don't know what the filling is. Maybe fish or squid. ❤️Steamed Scallop: The scallop is HUGE!! Color looks plain, but it is seasoned well. Yummy!! This dine in minimum $15 deal for the daily special is so good quality (for Wednesday - steamed scallop w garlic). So worth it. What I ordered from the Afternnon Tea menu: Stir-fried beef rice noodle $14.50, add-on Fry Stuffed Chili Peppers for $5. With a free Red bean sluch with ice cream.

We like this place, found a couple of dishes to our liking. Like their salt&pepper chicken cartilage, guilin noodle soup and their sweet and sour pork ribs. Yesterday we add an extra dish - chicken chop rice and I was shocked when I open the box ( as shown ). I cannot believe my eye that's what they served for a $10.45 dish! Disappointed and I think if we ever go back to the restaurant again we can only stick to the 3 dish we know .

Everything is very flavourful here. If you like a more bland and simple flavours this is not the restaurant for you. The deep fried tofu doesnt look appetizing but is a light crispy delight thats comes with a great sauce. And their homemade hot sauce is SO good! You can buy it by separately.

Friendly service. After noon tea is a really good deal. I had dumpling noodles in soup + red bean slush w/ ice cream costing $9.50 plus tax.

When enjoying their 街邊腸粉, remember to utilize the long sticks provided—it's the authentic and traditional way to savor this nostalgic delicacy. Today, hot summer day: Cannot not review their cold beef. Extraordinarily firm and tasty, not found anywhere else. Also have their watercress soup. Perfect choice for a hot summer day. The use of dried shrimp was very clever and rose bought the dish to a super high level. The young man Cody is extremely nice and friendly 👍
