Kaz's Tea Room

Surprised my mom with an afternoon tea experience here and what an absolute delight it was!!! The tea, the delicious, fresh and tasty food were incredible! And all the details from the decor to the beautiful table made this such a memorable experience, highly recommend! Thank you Christine for making this such a special event for us!

Everything about this was absolutely fantastic! There were so many tea options to choose from and the food was absolutely delicious! There were even some seasonal treats (pumpkin flavoured!) which I wasn’t expecting but was very welcome! The scones were especially delicious, and there was clotted cream two different preserves provided to put on them. Definitely come on an empty stomach, there was a lot more to eat than me and my spouse were expecting but we were provided a box to take our leftover goodies home which was definitely a plus. Everything was clean and felt very professional, we had an amazing time and definitely plan on going back again!

Absolutely fantastic! My daughter treated me for my birthday, and what a special treat it was! Christine allows you privacy, and supplies you with a bell to let her know when she is needed. She is extremely professional. The dining room was beautifully decorated, and the food so heavenly delicious and very plentiful. We had wonderful leftovers to enjoy at home. Worth every penny! Looking forward to going back.

We did a high tea box take-away and it was a huge hit. Let me give the tea. We took our box set to be a monster bingo session. The hall patrons were all amazed and said it was such a good idea. Several of them took pictures ‘cause they want to try out Kaz’s Tea room. So many people offered to store our goodies in a ‘safe place’. lol . Others just slowed down while walking by ….to check out what was next to come out of the box. It was a taste success and a very extreme social success. We will definitely do this again!!!! I had the pleasure of experiencing a High Tea on Saturday morning in Durham. Christine warmly welcomed us into her home and provided us slippers upon taking our coats. She ushered us into the private tea area. The table was beautifully set for 6 with rich pastels of pink and blue for Spring/Easter. It was a nice intimate setting with the sounds of the Bridgeton soundtrack and classic musical mix softly playing in the background. Each place setting had a tea cup, saucer, cutlery, silk napkin, tea strainer accompanied a box with a magnifying glass with 23 sample tea containers. It was so hard to select 1 tea as there were a lot of amazing options. Christine came back after a few minutes once we were settled and set the expectations of the High Tea experience; she happily took our orders. Shortly after delivering the teas the Towers of Goodness were presented. All I can say was OMG what a spread!!!! I'm on a new health journey and some of things on the menu didn't jive with my eating plan.....especially the desserts lol 😆 I called Christine before our scheduled date to see if any accommodations could be made. She was more than happy to respect and honor my eating plan. She provided carb free version of all the sandwiches by replacing the bread with lettuce. She also let me know she had gluten free options as well. Back to the Tower of Goodness, Christine baked most of the items in-house as the brownies, cookies, cupcakes, butter tarts, blondies, scones. The sandwiches were delicious brie cheese and fig jam, turkey, egg salad, cucumber, Havarti cheese with pesto and roasted red pepper....which was my absolute favorite. Christine was a wonderful hostess. She served us with style and class. She was only around when needed....she provided a bell to call her. Christine's house was beautiful and very clean. Everything was perfectly laid out. This is a highly recommended activity to participate in and I will definitely come back again! Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

I found this tea room on Google and I’m glad I did. We enjoyed the Christmas tea experience. Christine greeted us at the door and gave us all new slippers to wear. Upon arriving the house was decorated beautifully, and the dining room was outstanding with beautiful Christmas decor. Each one of us had a selection of tea that we could choose from. We received a lovely pot of tea. Christine had a little dinner bell that we could ring when we were ready for service. We started off with squash soup that was delicious. Our second course was the scones. They came hot and with real clotted cream, lemon curd, and a raspberry jam. All delicious! Next we had an assortment sandwiches and a lot of homemade dessert treats. This was by far the best tea experience I have had. The house is decorated beautifully and the service and Quality was excellent. We enjoyed all the little details.

Can't say enough to express just how wonderful this venue really is. Hands down, Kaz's is the finest tearoom in Durham Region - food, service, atmosphere, and every detail was superb. Christine is an awesome hostess and owner of this outstanding business. She is welcoming, accommodating and makes every moment of your experience memorable.

Our first visit to Kaz’s Tea room was exceptional!!!! This group of educators had a spa like experience for our March Break visit - relaxing and recharging with great food - loved the selection of TEA and a great time with friends. Thank you Christine for providing an atmosphere where the conversation was easy and the memories made! The scones and sandwiches were to die for !! See you again soon!
