Karkumi Cafe

One star for the cuteness! Love the feel and ambience of this cafe. Unfortunately, food and coffee were not good and came out cold. Service and wait times were absolutely terrible. Here is the roast beef sandwich which took them 45 minutes to make. Insane. Management/Owner needs to hire more servers and chefs. The 2 servers I saw today were working hard and literally running from table to table to keep up. They shouldn’t have to do that. Server offered a discount of $4 which I declined.

Nice little cafe in a commercial area. The place is relatively small but there could be space for a single table of 10 or so. Presentation of everything was nice. The croffles were nice (croissant-waffles) though the chicken could have a bit more flavour. The potatoes on the various dishes were good. The omurice used some wild grain rice which was different. The French toast was good as well.

Karkumi Cafe in North York deserves every bit of its 5-star rating! I've visited several times, and each experience has been great. The food is absolutely delicious, with a diverse brunch menu that never disappoints. Their coffee is strong and flavorful, perfect for kickstarting your day. The washroom is always kept clean, which adds to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Ive been trying to keep this gem a secret, but it's getting busier during brunch hours now so no point in gatekeeping! If you're looking for a cozy brunch spot with great food and coffee, Karkumi Cafe is the place to be!

Came in at around 1PM. Was seated right away, scan to order on the table. Staff were nice and attentive. Ordered the beef short rib egg benny and the squash pasta with bacon. We also ordered the Hochija Latte and a flat white. The beef short ribs lacked flavour, it was not as tender as I expected. The hollandaise sauce was under seasoned. Side of potatoes were over done, kinda hard and the inside was somewhat dry. I got ketchup on the side to get it down. The pasta was okay, it lacked flavour as well, the sauce just lacked taste or salt. The flat white was very light, it tasted like a single shot of espresso. The hochjia latte was also light. Not my type of food but my partner said this was what she expected. It’s edible, tailored for people who like food a little light on flavour.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem as another brunch spot was too busy and so glad I did! Brunch was really good here, we ordered the Chicken and Croffles and the Big Breakfast which were well portioned and tasted great! The purple yam latte was also very creamy and had a beautiful design. Interior of the restaurant was very vibrant and also comes off as a nice Cafe to get beverages for both meetings and work. Definitely going back again to try other items on the menu.

The place was cozy and we were seated immediately, you order through your phone so there is limited interaction with the server. Croffles and chicken were good, both had great crunch / crisp. The chicken was seasoned very well as were the potatoes for the Benny. The Benny itself was under salted and not amazing. Honey comb latte was interesting, I liked the combo of the two flavours but the honey comb was too sweet for me, should’ve expected as much though. The purple yam latte was prettier than it was tasty, subtle flavour and mostly just milk.

I’ve been super hooked on this place! The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing, with a cozy and stylish vibe. The staff are friendly and welcoming. And let me tell you, the food is amazing! I tried their pasta, and crunchy waffles and they’re so good. I’m obsessed with the honeycomb latte – I come back just for it, and sometimes it gets sold out! Definitely put your name on the waitlist if you’re going during busy times. Def coming back here!

I recently visited this new brunch spot in Scarborough and had an absolutely delightful experience! The food was incredibly delicious, with a wide variety of options to satisfy any palate. I tried their Beef Short Rib Eggs Benedict & Chicken Waffle, both of which were perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The latte art was a lovely touch, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my coffee experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The decor is charming and thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was exceptional – the staff were super friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. This place has quickly become my go-to spot for brunch in Scarborough. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious meal, great coffee, and excellent service in a cozy setting!
