Karaikudi Chettinad Indian Restaurant

This is such a beautiful South Indian restaurant with a vast menu option. I ordered a Masala Dosa, Sweet Mango Lassi, Masala Chai and a Boneless Chicken Biryani to share and both were delicious. They also had lovely music playing in the background, tables were clean, service was friendly. The washrooms were super clean, floors were not sticky and there was no foul smell. My friend and I had a lovely time and can't wait to come back.

Ordered biryani and chicken chetinaad with Naan for delivery. The way you guys pack the Naan tells me a lot of thought and work has been done to think about the customer. Naan was packed in aluminium foil and with enough air space inside. It arrived hot and crispy even though it's 15km plus from my place, unlike other experiences I've had from other restaurants when it turns hard and gummy. The chicken biryani was very flavourful, reminiscent of the true definition of this subtle rice dish. The flavors come through in each grain, unlike other renditions of this dish I've had elsewhere which are way too spicy and skimp on the variety of spices. Two chicken drumsticks per portion of biryani was quite generous. The highlight is the chicken chetinaad curry. I would have preferred a few more pieces of chicken to be honest. However the taste was amazing, best chetinaad chicken I've had in Toronto. The gravy on its own was amazing. I would order again just for this.

We have travelled in front of this restaurant multiple times, but decided to try it on the thanks giving weekend. There is a lot of seating space and is well maintained. The service is very good and quite fast. The quantity of the food is very good. Although my son wanted the masala dosa, given it cost almost $20, decided to go for fried rice and butter chicken which was good for 4 kids. We also tried the mutton and chicken biriyani as well which were very tasty and fulfilling. There is ample parking space outside the restaurant.

Great place for southern dishes - especially Tamil/Kerala style. I would avoid the Indo Chinese items and lower expectations on the Briyani

Great place for Kerala cuisine. We had lunch at Karaikudi a couple of weeks ago! Been eating here often. The dry pepper chicken and Mutton Sukka masala were very flavourful.The chicken Tikka too was well cooked! Love dining here as always.

Good variety of meat and vegetarian options, all main course non-veg meals come with halal meat however the kids menu meats are NOT halal according to staff.

I was eager to try some chettinad biryani after ages. Ordered egg biryani and the disappointment cannot be put to words. I've tried biryani all over Tamil Nadu but I don't know where it belongs. Definitely not Karaikudi. Just slightly spiced rice even borderline pulav. 10% discount if you pay by card.

I came here last month when I visited Toronto. The staffs were quite fast and efficient. I like the ambience here where they are decorated nicely with South India influence. The food was great with a good portion. The price is quite reasonable too. Also they provided a discount when paid by cash.
